    Window of Opportunity ch. 68

We went back outside and I told everyone that Mom and Daddy would be coming out. We talked and just enjoyed each other. Shane asked if we were going to find out the sex of the babies and we told her no. We wanted the whole element of surprise. Although everyone was nervous of the unknown, we had a good time together. James promised to arrange Bette’s schedule and by midnight, we were all in need of sleep. The hugs were passed again and I knew we had made the right decision to tell them. Their love for us was without question and their support of us was constant. We needed them.

    Bette

Telling everyone, although scary to verbalize was such a feeling of relief. We weren’t experiencing it alone and we needed our family. It was great that Sam and Catherine were coming out too. I wanted to believe that everything was going to be ok but I had my doubts and I needed Catherine too in case something did go wrong. I wanted to be able to comfort Tina but felt that my comfort may not be enough. I wanted comfort too.

Sam and Catherine weren’t joking. They called the next morning to tell us that they were on their way to the airport. They gave their flight information and I was there to meet them. They both pulled me into hugs that immediately made me feel better about the situation. We stopped at the daycare to pick up Angie and she was beyond excited to see them. We hadn’t told her they were coming since we weren’t sure when they would be able to get a flight.

Tina was home when we got there and she and her mother held each other for a long time. She had the cry that I think that she was holding in and together, they went to the patio to talk. Sam, Angie and I looked around and he gave some great ideas about adding on to the house. He told me that he would call some contractors during the time they were there and get the ball rolling on the addition. When Angie went to her room to get a toy, he asked me how I was doing. That brought tears to my eyes. I know that people forget the other parent and for him to know what his daughter was going through yet still ask me how I was made me appreciate him even more. I told him truthfully that I was scared but hoping for the best. He pulled me into a hug. It felt so right. I probably would have had a cry but Angie came back out and wanted some attention from Sam. He winked at me and went off to play with her.

    1. Wow! Two posts in one day. Who ever challenged you, tell them thanks! Great as always. You did have me concerned for a moment. Love that they are communicating and that Tina’s hormones are raging. Can’t wait to see how they control the urges ;)

    2. I also noticed the baby ad & smiled at the coincidence….Well thank you to whoever issued the challenge & thank you for answering it…great update….glad that everything is ok w/ the babies & T…love seeing the whole family supporting our girls & wonderful to see them being open w/ each other about everything – including those raging hormones!! ;)

    3. Bette & Tina are having 2 bundles of joy! And you posted twice in one day! Double sources of happiness. WOW! The bleeding and the procedure were scary. It was so touching to see their whole family rally around them. I hope the worst is over and the rest of Tina’s pregnancy will be okay. But whatever happens, I think Bette & Tina’s relationship will emerge even stronger from this pregnancy. “I asked her the question that Tina wanted me to ask. Dr. Wilson had to hold her stomach she was laughing so hard.” => I LMAO too when I read this. Bette will have her hands full dealing with Tina’s double rush of hormones. Everything is falling into place for the Kennard-Porters. Even Shane, Alice and Kit have found their own loves. Thank you, thank you, NAG, for the lovely 2 chapters! Hope you and little G had a blast in the beach, sand and all. :>

    10. I tired to read this post when it first came out but knew that I would not have done it justice. I loved how much Bette and Tina have grown as a couple and hope that they will continue to grow. I know that life can throw a curve ball into the mixture, but at least they have each other and their family. Please keep Bette and Tina and of course the babies safe. Well, that also goes for the entire family.

    11. I was scared at first but the chapter left me smiling… in fact, I’m still smiling. What can I say? This story just makes me happy. Thanks for the double posts, NAG. cheers!

    12. I’m so happy you posted again today I can never get enough of this story. Twins, gosh Tina will wear Bette out she won’t be able to stand up. Lol. This will be such fun to watch when Dr. Wilson gives them the green light. Such a wonderful story. Post when you can.
