“Okay “ Bette said coming in zipping up her jacket “Lets get this show on the road “

The school that Angie was about to start at was at one end of Central Park – it was very select and Tina was hoping that Angie would enjoy its high standards and emphasis on creativity as well as children enjoying their studies. Both Angie and Tina were quiet the closer they got to the school. Once they were through the gates Bette knew it was the right school for her daughter – there were gay parents and straight parents all fussing around children who were the same age as Angie. Bette counted three lesbian couples – that was good – Angie wouldn’t feel too much “otherness “ if she was not the only child with gay parents. A young African American man came out and spoke with confidence

“Hello – my name is Martin – would all the new parents and children follow me “

Bette turned at looked at Tina

    “You okay ?”

“I am holding it all together “

“Just keep doing that – you can cry all you want when she’s in her class “

It took about ten minutes for the two teaching assistants and the teacher who was a tall Englishman to process the children and give them name badges and coral them into their classroom. Left alone there was a real sense of emotion among the parents deprived of their children

“We cannot stop you staying and watching the class but we have found that its best for your children if you leave them to it. None of them seem really upset – you lot look like you need an irish coffee “

Parents drifted away slowly – Tina was still standing watching the children in the classroom. Bette slipped her arms through Tina’s and snuggled closer to her

“She looks like a natural already “ Bette said as they watched Angie talking ninety to the dozen to a young boy who looked more shell-shocked than their daughter.

“Is she going to be okay ?”

“You should be very proud of that child – she is confident and articulate and smart and utterly loving – that’s all down to you – come on babe – lets leave her to take over “

    1. Thaks for another chapter of this wonderful story AllyE. They are all doing wonderfully well and Angie is such a little darling. The first day of school usually affects the parents way more so than the children. It’s good that Bette totally understands just how affected by this day Tina really is and that she also has the perfect cure for the sadness, a long day of making love to her beautiful partner. Can’t wait for them to pick Angie up and she tells them what a wonderful day she has had and the youngsters she has met. Fantastic chapter. Thanks for posting.

    2. Ally thank you for this Amazing chapter!!! I was there twice where Tina is and how she is feeling. Now I am at the other end with one going to Grauduate in June. Thank you so much for this. PPVS with some hot loving between B&T

    3. Lovely chapter! Wow for the change that Bette went through. I mean she’s still her old self, a control freak, lists-organized woman but now she takes the time to explain and share what she’s doing which is great. Tina’s very lucky to have such a thoughtful partner in her life, they’re both lucky to have each other and Angie. I liked their sweet banters about Uni, Bette like most parents wanting her daughter to follow in her step. I’m looking to their day together, to how they’ll keep their memories afresh about how to make a baby (goofy smile) and especially for the reactions of Kit and Alice when they’ll know about the new baby. Read you very soon.
