    Kristen’s in the hospital… Bobby’s dicussion with Marco… Roxy’s Hell… The parents hear of Dana’s engagement

    Dana – Hope you don’t mind Chinese…

    Sharon – What’s all this?

    Dana – We thought we would surprise you.

    She faced her husband.

    Sharon – And did you know about this?

    He didn’t miss the accusing look, even though the words came out differently.

    Irwin – I’m just as surprised as you are.

    Alice – We just wanted to do something nice for you.

    Sharon – It’s lovely, dear…. Though I’m sure the MSG won’t be good for my headache.

    Dana – You’re still having one?

    Sharon – It just started a little while ago.

    Dana – Maybe you need to see a doctor. You’ve had so many lately.

    Sharon – I’m fine. Maybe I’ll have something to eat later.

    Dana – At least sit down.

    Sharon – I just was about to take a shower first… if that’s alright.

    Dana – Can it wait? We have some good news we’d like to tell you about.

    Sharon – I guess it’s got to be about your career then….

    Dana – Nope… it’s better.

    Alice couldn’t resist. She had to wriggle the finger on her hand, showing off the shiny new ring.

    Dana – We’re getting married….

    Sharon’s world went black.

    Dana – Mom… mom… mom?

    How could it be? Roxy had gone so far and yet just made a damn circle around this god-forsaken place. She couldn’t understand why this was all happening to her. Why not just kill her now? Or is it up to her to kill herself? There was enough in this syringe to end her pathetic life or so she thought. The coyotes could finally feed off her body. That’s what they were waiting for anyway. In some respects, it was easier knowing it would be a pack of canines versus the lowest vermin… the rats.

    Roxy injected what was probably the last dose. It was her time to go and she resigned herself to the fact. She floated higher and higher… probably higher than she had ever gone. It had felt so damn good. If this what heaven was like, she never wanted to come back again. It felt as if she was walking through a dream. It was so cloudy… or maybe it was foggy. She was scared, mostly because she was still alone. She hadn’t expected this. Is this was what death brought… more loneliness?

    1. Holy moly!! Welcome back, brteyes!! I am sorry to hear what a rough year you had and hope that your father continues to improve. As to the chapter… It doesn’t seem like the time off has caused you to lose any of your skills. I like that you were able to provide an update that kept the story moving with just enough info so I didn’t have to go back and re-read. Love the additional info on Sharon. I have to wonder if there is more to her objections to the marriage. Poor Roxy. Yes, I said it. I don’t know how you come back from an experience like she is going through. Marco is shaping up to be a fascinating character. Loved more background on Roxy and Erika. Thank you for continuing the story even though the last line of the chapter makes me feel a bit queasy. Oh! And congrats to you and Danalicious. ;-D

    2. Well hello stranger, I was wondering if and when we would see you again :) May I say it’s lovely to have you back. I was more than a little excited when I saw an update to the story so I went back and read what I’ve missed! Im sorry to hear about you’re father and I really hope he continues to improve. I always think it’s lovely that you and Danalicious are together I really do :)Again Im so glad you’re back! I read the 3 chapters I need to catch up on and I have to say that the wait was worth it, I enjoyed every second of reading them. I have to say I am really intrigued by Marco and have a good feeling about him, am I right to or not? lol. I love the little bit of background your giving us with Roxy and Erika as well. Totally not suprised by Sharon’s reaction although Im dying to know what this secret is of hers!! Can I also say I don’t like the sound of the last line in this chapter, I take it David’s more than evil ways are going to come back into action with poor Alice and Dana soon enough … Ohhh!! Haha. Can’t wait to see another update when you’re able to give us one :D x
