Alice leaned onto her seat and sigh. The lyrics of the song playing penetrated in her mind.

Am I just seeing what I want to see
Or is it true, could you really be

She crossed her arms, wondering what it was like to be in the brunette’s arms. Is Dana willing to give up all the fishes in the pond just to hold her in her arms?

“Hey Alice over here” Carmen stood up and went to hug her best friend.

“Hey Carmen.”

They broke the hug and seated onto their chairs. After ordering their drinks, they started to catch up on each others lives.

“So you have been staying here for almost one month already. What do you think about LA?” Alice asked.

“I think LA is great, not on the traffic though, but overall it is great.” Carmen smiled.

“How about you and Shane? Have you two sorted out your feelings?”

Carmen’s face turned a deep shade of red upon hearing Alice’s question.

“Yes we finally said what was in our minds for so long and we agreed to work on a relationship.” She looked down at her lap. Alice moved to put her hand on top of Carmen’s and squeezed it lightly.

“I’m glad to hear that. You know I am still shocked that Shane is the person you always call ‘the dumbest thing you have ever met’ back then.” Both girls giggled.

Almost one month ago

“Hey Carmen!” Alice went to hug her best friend.

“Alice! Thanks for coming to fetch me.” Carmen said as she hugged Alice tightly.

They broke their hug and smiled at each other.

“I miss you pal. How are you doing these few months in LA?” Carmen asked.

“I miss you too. I am doing great!” Alice smiled broadly. Carmen noticed the happy tone in Alice’s voice.

“Come let’s go Susan is waiting at home. She can’t wait to see you.”

“Ok. I miss her too.” Carmen said as she followed Alice to the airport parking space.
