“Okay – is the fact that it’s my mom and your mom that is the issue here?”
“I think I am more worried about how you would react. I knew my mom was a player at college – but did you know Rosemary was?”
“I didn’t know but I had a bloody good idea. She looked like I did at college – of course she was going to get asked out. Am I shocked she cheated on dad? – No – because couples don’t stay faithful for all that time. They were dating –I am sure dad had his admirers – I have seen photos of him and he was handsome and a big mover in the African American community – he will have been a major person on campus. And having seen first-hand how college politics attracts groupies I am not remotely shocked. And “Bette sighed thinking things over before she spoke “They were all friends and a close group. I know one of the women that they hung around with had slept with Emma. College groups are like that – you know that “
“I do “
“Okay so let’s try and put to one side that this piece of ancient history was dragged up by a drunken Kate as some sort of pathetic excuse for why she has been dropping her pants for years – that’s not easy. But let’s park that. Do you hate Emma for cheating on Kate?”
“No”
“Okay – do you hate my mother”
“NEVER – It’s not in me to hate anyone Bette – not even Kate but I am fucking furious that she decided to tell me and by extension you this secret a week before Christmas”
“So do you think its sabotage ?”
“To sabotage my relationship with mom?”
“To sabotage everyone’s relationships – mine with you, yours with my parents, and me with Emma – take your pick “
“Well it can only be sabotage or spite really “Tina said after several minutes. She was glad that Bette was here at last. There was something about Bette’s natural serenity that made her own anger subside.
“Okay – so she was being spiteful and trying to hurt you – or trying to screw up your relationship with your mother. You have to keep that in your mind Tina – regardless of her being steamed or not – she told you something that is such an ancient family secret – something that they all know and I guess they have all vowed you and I would never find out about. “
“But we know now”
“We do – but this isn’t 4 or 5 years ago when finding this out could have totally sunk us before we really got the chance to start. We are adults – we know what we were like at college – you know what happened to me – you know that I had a crazy stalker who wanted to kill the girl I was dating – you know that and you have been awesome in how you have handled it babe. Well – you and I are going to have to be just as strong and non-judgemental as that now. Because I am not giving that vindictive bitch the pleasure of seeing you and I fall out with each other, or Emma or my parents – do you agree ?”
“Yes – you are right.” Tina took a few deep breaths and dried her eyes. The tears had finally died out and she felt that together with Bette she could face just about anything – just so long as she had Bette with her. She lent closer and kissed Bette on her lips. The kiss made her feel even better so she lingered for several minutes just kissing Bette on the lips and enjoying how good it felt. Finally she ended the kiss and touched Bette’s face

Thanks! This was great! I love that Tina and Bette want let Kate hurt their relationship. Kate is in major shit now with everyone. I don’t think Tina will come back after this one. Melvin is going to go off on Kate. Lord Tina Dad is going to go crazy on Kate also. I can’t wait. Please post again today since you go back to work tomorrow. Glad to read another update. I’m happy that Bette and Tina are being reasonable about their judgment over their parent’s past. It was really a bad situation but I’m sure that they’ll get over this. As for Kate. She is a bitch! Hehe

I’m glad B&T doesn’t Let this influence their relationship with each other and Emma and Rosemary.

I guess it´s always easier to lash out than to accept your own flaws – but this really was a shitty thing to do. I´m sure Kate´s main goal was Emma, but she had to have known the potential damage she could have caused.
Hm, Kate is a fully-fledged demon now in everyone’s eyes, but is what she’s done really totally unforgivable? Really?
Until a few months ago, Tina loved Kate just fine. Time heals everything – it certainly worked in Emma’s favor, didn’t it? Because no matter what she’s done, she’s been forgiven and everyone loves her now.
Kate’s just going to have to give it a while. Something is clearly wrong, and the woman is losing her marbles. Maybe someone will eventually reach out and figure out what it is, or encourage her to get therapy or something. Hell, it’s Christmas, and who wants to be mad at their mother at Christmas?
In the meantime though, Kate will have to answer for her professional wrong doings… that one can’t really be let go.
In personal matters, Emma was no saint and she’s rolling high now, so surely Kate will be afforded the same opportunity by everyone for forgiveness.
LOL, I can’t see any of them doing it though. I think they’ll have the cheeriest Christmas ever out of spite. ;P

I liked this chapter, and I am glad that Bette and Tina rationally thought through and did anything rash.
The love between them is very strong indeed, and it shows that they will beat with just about anything and anyone.
Bette’s view was correct, that in the past, and it’s between the parents.
Kate just really fucked up royally. She wanted to hurt and tarnish Emma, and she does not think that what she was doing to her daughter. If she doesn’t really want to be alone, and lose her daughter. She need to think it all. I hope she come to her senses, but it will not be an easy task if she want to repair with the relationship everybody.
I’m with the others, it will be just bad then you post a new chapter once a week. I was hooked on this story, and I like the usual amount :P
I look forward to the next chapter.

I am liking Kate less and less now. I am really impressed at how mature Bette and Tina are. They have come a long way where they can forgive their mothers for having an affair. It does bring hope that they will one day forgive Kate too.
