Reunions Reunite: The way we were, chapter 2

Why had I been such a coward? What was one hit, compared to all the ones my mother had endured? As I closed my eyes, I remember the fear that rose in me… The fear caused, not my the hurt of his blow, but by the look in his eyes… The livid fury as he ordered me to leave, but that still didnt come near to the impression of those eyes behind him… The real reason I had left… The begging in those orbs that had the same color as mine, my mothers expression, her face, wrenched in pain over me… It was all etched in my heart, I could still see it… And with a scream and push from him, I had obeyed her silent demand, and got out of there.

A sound, more like the echo of a sound I didn’t recognize, reached me, and made my head shoot up, my eyes ready to scan the area looking for the source of the sound…

    But…

They didnt have to, because the instant I looked up, I saw her. I could feel her eyes on me, but couldn’t catch them as the sun reflected its light in her glasses as if they were mirrors…

Would they be the mirrors of her soul?

Two strong emotions fought for the main place in my heart… Two strong and opposite emotions…

    Fear and hope.

As I saw her hesitate, one side of me wanted to be left alone, I had vowed to myself years ago when I realized having a father who loves the bottle more than his own wife isn’t normal, that I wouldn’t face the judgement, the hateful stinging remarks either in my face, or behind my back. And I think everybody fell for my act of the perfect innocent girl next door. It was my mask, my protection from the outside world… But there was something about her,  something about her gestures, about her profile, about her hesitance as she took a step closer. The hope flared up, and at once I realized who she was, and I blushed as I realized I only knew the nickname Victoria had given her the day before, the first day of school that now seemed a lifetime ago… Seeing her there made me realize how much time must have passed… It made me realize I had skipped the second day of school and that I would probably skip the first week untill that cheek had healed… I sighed, feeling bad that I didnt even know her real name.

    3. It took me forever to get through the chapter. 1.) It was tough. Nothing light and fluffy about it. A great chapter as always, but still tough and 2.) I got held up chatting with someone. LMAO Two shitty men in Tina’s life. =( PPS!

    4. Wow…the chapter certainly was a hard one to read due to it’s nature. However, it was perfectly written and well done!! Again…got me hooked! Have a good one!

    5. Excellent writing as usual. Very descriptive and VERY moving. It can take alot out of a writer when delving into areas of life that are so dark and deep. Thank you for sharing your talent and for putting as much time in as you do to prepare a fabulous piece of work. BRAVO! Oh yeah, and MORE!!!! :-)))

    6. The hurt that Tina felt due to her father must have been unbearable. To watch her mother go through what she did and know that there was really nothing that she could do to help her mother must have been very painful. Then to have the one person that could take that pain away even if it was for a few seconds to be there to catch you helps to make one continue to move forward in the walk of life. Both are sorry about something and I wonder if they can put that aside and rebuild their friendship. Of course their relationship is more than just friendship.

    7. Damn this is so good. Sad for Tina, is hurt to see that happen to Tina, is good that Bette was there to comforting her.Don’t know what happen that they are not see or be with each other but hope now its time for B&T have a start and a happy life together. Ok post soon please, thanks!

    8. You did such an amazing job of balancing the really hard to read with the absolutely breathtakingly wonderful bits. The connection between the two of them is amazing, and I LOVE how you’re setting this up. Fantastic, as always!

    10. Excellent chapter per usual hun!! I guess thats what i love about your writing, no matter what the content, sad or happy the emotion is so very strong.. Can’t wait for more (per usual) :)

    11. what? what? Huh? What are they sorry for? Have I missed out some chapters? haha… Oh JLBT… this is so intense. STOP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!! I wish to be there for Tina too when that horrible thing happened. So that Tina wouldn’t be living in guilt and blame herself over her father’s faults. Anyway, I love this chapter and will forever amazed by your writing :D

    12. Everytime I think you could not blow me away even more, you do to a degree that I could have never imagined… OMG J, that was… well, there you go, I can’t even find the words… I don’t know how you manage, but this is just … so… intense! The drama that draw them together, making the connection that more precious and peculiar… Wow! I wish I could say more, but seriously I don’t think I would do justice to my real feelings after reading this… Thanks PIC!
