Reunions Reunite: The way we were, chapter 2
Thank you.
I could only mumble, and the moment I had uttered th words I realized how incoherent they would sound… Embarresed I avoided looking into her eyes, seeing a way out of my inadequate anwer in the handkerchief, which I handed back to her.
But she took a small step back. I could feel it, as if stepping away from a fireplace, missing the warmth instantly. I glanced up and saw her shake her head:
You can keep it, Tina.
My heart stopped, hearing her utter my name… Hoarsly, sweetly, never had it been uttered like that.
You know my name…
She blushed, and now she looked away from me, shyly, suddenly aware of her words.
I… We…
She stammered, stealing a glance at me… It wasn’t that I didn’t want her to know my name, it just made me feel worse that I didn’t know hers. I saw her struggle and was about to say something when she shyly stated:
I heard someone mention it at school… In the hallway… When you helped me…
I approached her carefully, as one would approach a fawn, the fear so palpable in those eyes that had touched me since the very beginning, so audible in the voice that soothed me more then any ever had…
I remember…
She was fidgeting with the silver ring around her finger, a gesture I later learned to interpretate as nervousness, and I took her hands in mine, again struck by their softness. I felt a jolt go through her as our fingers entwined.
I just feel bad now because… I don’t know yours…
Her voice was nothing more then a whisper, when she answered me, uttering the name I would never see or hear again without all my senses focussing on it, and my heart jumping up. The name that, from that day in my life, wuld always evoke emotions and resemble true and genuin friendship
It’s Bette… My name is Bette…

Fate is a strange thing, and as the wind brought her the piece of morningpaper, getting stuck to the blonde’s jeans as she absentmindedly stared into the waves, it must have had something to do with that short four-letter-word.

It took me forever to get through the chapter. 1.) It was tough. Nothing light and fluffy about it. A great chapter as always, but still tough and 2.) I got held up chatting with someone. LMAO Two shitty men in Tina’s life. =( PPS!
Very intense. Quite the connection between B&T as always. Waiting for the next post.
Wow…the chapter certainly was a hard one to read due to it’s nature. However, it was perfectly written and well done!! Again…got me hooked! Have a good one!
this was heavy…but a wonderful connection between B&T…i hope they can heal each other from whatever happened in those 13 years
Excellent writing as usual. Very descriptive and VERY moving. It can take alot out of a writer when delving into areas of life that are so dark and deep. Thank you for sharing your talent and for putting as much time in as you do to prepare a fabulous piece of work. BRAVO! Oh yeah, and MORE!!!! :-)))
whoa!!!!!!!!!!! great work
The hurt that Tina felt due to her father must have been unbearable. To watch her mother go through what she did and know that there was really nothing that she could do to help her mother must have been very painful. Then to have the one person that could take that pain away even if it was for a few seconds to be there to catch you helps to make one continue to move forward in the walk of life. Both are sorry about something and I wonder if they can put that aside and rebuild their friendship. Of course their relationship is more than just friendship.
Damn this is so good. Sad for Tina, is hurt to see that happen to Tina, is good that Bette was there to comforting her.Don’t know what happen that they are not see or be with each other but hope now its time for B&T have a start and a happy life together. Ok post soon please, thanks!
wow… just wow… ;)
Oh, I love this…pls don’t stop there!!!
You did such an amazing job of balancing the really hard to read with the absolutely breathtakingly wonderful bits. The connection between the two of them is amazing, and I LOVE how you’re setting this up. Fantastic, as always!

Excellent chapter per usual hun!! I guess thats what i love about your writing, no matter what the content, sad or happy the emotion is so very strong.. Can’t wait for more (per usual) :)
what? what? Huh? What are they sorry for? Have I missed out some chapters? haha… Oh JLBT… this is so intense. STOP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!! I wish to be there for Tina too when that horrible thing happened. So that Tina wouldn’t be living in guilt and blame herself over her father’s faults. Anyway, I love this chapter and will forever amazed by your writing :D
Everytime I think you could not blow me away even more, you do to a degree that I could have never imagined… OMG J, that was… well, there you go, I can’t even find the words… I don’t know how you manage, but this is just … so… intense! The drama that draw them together, making the connection that more precious and peculiar… Wow! I wish I could say more, but seriously I don’t think I would do justice to my real feelings after reading this… Thanks PIC!
