    Chapter 7: Learning to deal, learning to feel…but not learning much (Bette meets Christina and Tina meets Professor Franklin)

     

    When she heard the question, Alicia snapped out of her staring and looked blankly at Elizabeth.

     

    “Yeah…” she said slowly, “I’m fine, she just reminded me of someone I knew from a long time ago.” Alicia kept stealing glances at Christina and was trying hard not to start staring again.

     

    Elizabeth was anxious to know more but she restrained herself from prying any further, so she decided to let it go, at least for now.

     

    “Tea is served, Madame,” Sarah announced and the rest of the evening passed in pleasant conversations, occasional laughter and a genuine atmosphere of happiness and peace that Elizabeth thought she would never feel anymore.

     

    Christina suggested to begin working on the paintings the next morning to have enough time to complete the series for the upcoming show. Elizabeth agreed wholeheartedly, hoping that if she will absorb herself in the art she could forget about Eric for awhile. And she really needed extra time to paint everything that her mother requested of her.

     

    However, deep inside, Elizabeth was fully aware of one more reason behind it. She felt an unbelievable and amazing connection with Christina and wanted to spend more time with her to find out where that feeling came from.

     

    It was so new to Elizabeth that she couldn’t define or categorize it. In truth, she thought that Christina was such a genuine and kind person that it seemed that everyone around her felt immediate attraction and sincere admiration for her, and Elizabeth was no exception.

     

    Meanwhile, in another dimension

    Year: 2005

     

    (Previously) “Look at this page, Eric, it’s all in there, and I won’t hesitate to use it.” Tina said with all the strength she could manage in this situation. “I’ll even send it to Pediatric Pre-operative Cardiac Arrest Registry so they can investigate the malpractice. And you, as one of the lead lawyers on the case, will go down for hiding this paper and probably bribing the nurse. No one will believe you after I expose you as a liar and a fraud and get you disbarred. So it would be better for you and your high-powered clients if you just come clean on your own.”

Well, I think I will be looking forward to your next chapter just as much as your report on L5! How is that for a proof of my addiction?
