Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 7
She couldn’t wait for Tuesday to arrive and was ready long before the time of the appointment was set. Professor Franklin was a director of the California Arts Center and he invited Tina to join him there so he could return the miniature to her and give her a brief discourse on the art history of Orange County.
When Tina arrived at the CAC, her anxiety and excitement reached their highest point. She could hardly control her trembling hands.
‘What is happening to me?’ Tina thought, walking through the main gallery to the professor’s office, ‘I’m so nervous, I feel butterflies in my stomach and for what? Just because I’m gonna learn something about that mysterious beautiful stranger? What if she turns out to be a fiction of somebody’s wild imagination or worse, a living and breathing person, but so out of my reach because she lived probably more then two hundred years ago? Either way my life is already screwed up, so how bad will it get? Just breathe, Tina…breathe.’
“Just breathe,” she repeated out loud before knocking on a door of Professor Franklin’s office. She heard him inviting her in and slowly let out breath as she entered his office, knowing that her life would never be the same, no matter what she finds out today.
Professor Franklin was a nice man, about 50 years old with messy grey hair and a very gentle face. He took Tina’s hand in a gentle handshake and invited her to sit down. Tina was too nervous to sit and shook her head, declining the invitation. But the professor insisted, “Ms. Kennard, for what I’m about to tell you, you have to sit down, because it might be bit of a shock to you.”
Tina slowly lowered herself on a couch and clasped her hands tightly together.
“Please, call me Tina,” she said nervously, “I…what is…I mean, what shock? What have you found out, Professor?”
“Well, Tina, first let’s see that miniature painting of yours, shall we?” He opened the top drawer of his office desk and took out the miniature, wrapped in the silk handkerchief. “We tried to restore it to our best ability and we discovered a lot of interesting details that were invisible before,” he said proudly while bringing the painting over to Tina.

Oh…I knew you’d stop at a critical point when you were going to that convention! This story is really good…I can’t believe this was the first one you ever wrote. Anyway great update and have tons of fun at L5. We’ll be looking for your report as usual!
Is the picture of Bette and did the long ago Christina paint it? This is such a thought provoking story. Can’t wait to see what is next.
Thanks for the update, please post soon! :)
That was so freaking good and please post more, thanks!
You can’t just stop there. Please tell what else had Franklin to tell.
Great update!… It’s getting really exciting! Hey, do you want a token of how much I love this fic? Well, I think I will be looking forward to your next chapter just as much as your report on L5! How is that for a proof of my addiction? LOL… I genuinely love this story, it’s very original and has so much potential that I’m sure I’ll be hooked to every single chapter. To be honest, I really like the build up, and don’t mind waiting a bit more for their meeting. Especially given the nature of your intrigue, it really needs the background stories. Thanks, and have a great time in London! Can’t wait to hear about it. ;)
It got very interesting now, I love them together even if they are not really together yet. Thanks B&T, you are amazing and I love this story very much. Love
