“Baby….please…”
“I know…I know, you’re right. Okay, let’s get something to eat. Then, sweet lady, dessert will be served at home…” Bette gave a low growl; then took Tina’s hand and they headed out the door.
They stopped briefly by the patrol car and told the officers the store was closed, they were going to Tang’s for dinner, then home.
The staff at Tang’s knew them well and welcomed them with big smiles when they entered the restaurant. “Their” table was in the rear set slightly off to the side from the rest of the diners.
“We’ve traveled quite a distance from that first dinner date, haven’t we?” Tina murmured.
Bette looked lovingly into Tina’s eyes, reached across the table and placed her hand over Tina’s.
“Yes, we have, baby. It is a journey I do not want to ever think of ending. You are my forever, Tina. When I think of us, how we met and fell in love, I smile at the ‘Hallmark Special Presentation’ of it all. It’s a love story that comes from wishes and dreams, but you never, ever expect it to be a reality. I get so frightened sometimes…” Bette’s voice held a bit of a tremor now.
“Why, baby? Why are you frightened? You should know that there is no one or nothing that I will allow to come between us…and I mean no one.”
Bette knew Tina was referring to John. She had also demonstrated the value of her love by refusing to let her mother emotionally intimidate her into changing her ways. She gave a gentle squeeze on Tina’s hand and with the other caught a tear making its way down her cheek.
“I have no doubts about you, Tina. It’s this overwhelming foreboding that someone – some thing will tear you from my life. You know that I, too, will not be intimidated by anyone when it comes to what I feel is the sanctity of us. That doesn’t mean that others – and right now that means John – give one iota of thought to whether either one of us can be intimidated or not. He’s got an agenda. At least he did. Men like that are a time bomb, baby.”

Hey Rene! Your writing is exquisite and the story is soooo good! I love the many layers and how the “Fates” have brought Bette and Tina together; and now they have given Sam and Ann a second chance. It sounds like they are going to do it right this time around. Love that Ann is going to “heal” the wounds she left on Tina. Once Ann hears about Tina’s problems with John she and Sam will want to help…and hopefully they will be able to. I can’t wait to see what kind of “getaway” trip The Fates have planned for B&T once the trial is over. I love your writing Rene!!! More please!!

Glad that you are back. I wish my mom was like Tina’s mom. Heck she does not even have to be with another woman, just chill out some. Bette and Tina are always special to me and the way that you put their love into words is breath taking.

After all of the drama of the court case and John’s reappearance it was sweet to have some time for Bette and Tina just to be together enjoying the benefits of their relationship. The flip to Tina’s mum’s world was interesting and will certainly open up several new story threads. But where is the Judge? Has he been gotten to? Wjen will John make his next move? Is Simon everything we hope or a cunning plant? Only your talent and skills will bring this all together. Thank you for the heat and passion, expertly portrayed, between our love birds. Great to see that their desire is still ramped to high and in no danger of being quenched. More please, Your Loyal Fan.
