“Don’t catch a cab. I’ll give you a lift.” Cavalli was aware of Tina’s ex and the incident.
“Are you sure? That would be great.”
“No problem, Tina. Anything for my favorite DA.”
They pulled up in front of Bette’s store and the squad car was parked a few spaces down. They were assigned until the case was over. Seeing the car made Tina feel better; yet it was again a reminder of everything that had happened in the past several weeks.
Tina thanked the detective and walked slowly up to the store. Bette’s back was to her. She was talking with a young couple. Tina let her eyes slowly scan the tall beauty who was her lover.
I am so freakin’ lucky Tina thought. She didn’t want to disturb Bette or interrupt the conversation, so she just stood to the side of the entrance looking in through the large front window. Her mind drifted back to the times she had walked passed this store, always wanting to go in, seemingly drawn to it for reasons she didn’t comprehend. It was more than the beautiful items displayed. She would sometimes catch a glimpse of Bette inside talking with people. Her body language, her beauty, her big brown doe-like eyes – and the smile, the smile that could light up the darkest corner of a room or the darkest well-guarded corner of one’s heart.
Tina shook her head and chuckled. I had been so blind to what was happening to me. I was attracted to this unknown woman.
Every day before she actually entered the store to meet the stranger with the magnetic pull, she unconsciously daydreamed about her. Tina had even dreamed up a scenario in her mind of walking in, walking right up to the woman, and saying, “Hi, my name is Tina Kennard and I want you.” She would always end the thought with a laugh and say, “Yeah, right, sure I will. I’m not even a Lesbian….umm, perhaps I better rethink that one, Ms. Kennard, because the very thought of this woman makes you wet…”
Tina was back in the present and saw Bette slowly turn in her direction…

Hey Rene! Your writing is exquisite and the story is soooo good! I love the many layers and how the “Fates” have brought Bette and Tina together; and now they have given Sam and Ann a second chance. It sounds like they are going to do it right this time around. Love that Ann is going to “heal” the wounds she left on Tina. Once Ann hears about Tina’s problems with John she and Sam will want to help…and hopefully they will be able to. I can’t wait to see what kind of “getaway” trip The Fates have planned for B&T once the trial is over. I love your writing Rene!!! More please!!

Glad that you are back. I wish my mom was like Tina’s mom. Heck she does not even have to be with another woman, just chill out some. Bette and Tina are always special to me and the way that you put their love into words is breath taking.

After all of the drama of the court case and John’s reappearance it was sweet to have some time for Bette and Tina just to be together enjoying the benefits of their relationship. The flip to Tina’s mum’s world was interesting and will certainly open up several new story threads. But where is the Judge? Has he been gotten to? Wjen will John make his next move? Is Simon everything we hope or a cunning plant? Only your talent and skills will bring this all together. Thank you for the heat and passion, expertly portrayed, between our love birds.
