My One Special One – Chapter 29

…and now after all these years the Fates gave her a second chance to follow her heart and this time there was no hesitation and no apprehension. She would heed the lesson her own daughter taught her:  Stand up and stand by the love of your life.

“Funny how life throws us these curve balls, isn’t it, Ann? Even better how we are fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to smack that curve ball out of the park.”

“What’s your schedule like next week?”  Ann asked.

“Nothing pressing as far as I remember.   No trials or depositions scheduled, I know that.  Why?  Want to whisk me away to a deserted island and have your way with me?”

“Oh, honey, we don’t need to go to a deserted island for that.   I’m going to call Tina and talk with her, but I want to go to Philadelphia and spend a couple days with her.  Would you go with me?”

“Are you sure about me being with you on this particular visit?  I don’t want to intrude on your time with her.”

“You won’t be intruding, Sam. If you’re able to go, I really want you to be with me.”

    “Then that’s where I’ll be.”

    * * *

Bette and Tina decided to stay at Tina’s place.   When they entered the lobby they noticed a new face at the desk.

Bette whispered to Tina, “They got rid of Rick?”

“It was supposed to be the end of the month.  They gave him two weeks notice.”

“Well, if he’s gone, it’s a pleasure not to see him or listen to his smarmy talk anymore…what a creep.”

They approached the desk and were greeted with both a pleasant face and voice.

“Good evening, ladies.  May I ask who you’re here to see?”

“My name is Tina Kennard and I’m a resident here.”

The young man looked down at the book in front of him.  “Yes, Ms. Kennard, I see your name here.  Could I please see some id?”

Tina took out her driver’s license and showed it to the deskman.

“Sorry, about that, Ms. Kennard, but being new I haven’t met all the tenants yet.  My name is Simon Castings.”

    1. Hi! is so good to read another incredible chapter of this story, they deserved that time apart from work and all the problems behind it. let us see how will Tina react to her mother’s confession

    2. the judge… i hope that wasn’t john and the judge in that first chapter… i hope you let us in… love this story and i have missed it… please don’t keep us hanging to long… later babe

    3. Great to see you post again! Always enjoy your well written chapters, especially the B/T love story and the drama surrounding Tina’s case. Hope you are able to post again soon. Thanks for writing.

    4. Hey Rene! Your writing is exquisite and the story is soooo good! I love the many layers and how the “Fates” have brought Bette and Tina together; and now they have given Sam and Ann a second chance. It sounds like they are going to do it right this time around. Love that Ann is going to “heal” the wounds she left on Tina. Once Ann hears about Tina’s problems with John she and Sam will want to help…and hopefully they will be able to. I can’t wait to see what kind of “getaway” trip The Fates have planned for B&T once the trial is over. I love your writing Rene!!! More please!!

    5. so happy to see you back, i adore this story, so glad that B&T want to take care of each other and can’t wait to see tina’s mom to come for a visit…is simon good?

    6. Glad that you are back. I wish my mom was like Tina’s mom. Heck she does not even have to be with another woman, just chill out some. Bette and Tina are always special to me and the way that you put their love into words is breath taking.

    7. Hiya Acre, That was wonderful. After all of the drama of the court case and John’s reappearance it was sweet to have some time for Bette and Tina just to be together enjoying the benefits of their relationship. The flip to Tina’s mum’s world was interesting and will certainly open up several new story threads. But where is the Judge? Has he been gotten to? Wjen will John make his next move? Is Simon everything we hope or a cunning plant? Only your talent and skills will bring this all together. Thank you for the heat and passion, expertly portrayed, between our love birds. Great to see that their desire is still ramped to high and in no danger of being quenched. More please, Your Loyal Fan.

    8. Beautiful as usual. Your story of true love is very touching. Love the story line about Tina’s mother being in love with a woman.Keep the drama coming and get rid of John soon! Thanks for posting.
