My One Special One – Chapter 28
They were just about to the doors of the northeast entrance. Tina felt a chill slide down her spine. She stopped walking and turned her head slowly, her eyes scanning the small groups of people making their way around City Hall.
“What’s the matter, Tina? Is it John? Do you see him? There’s cops all around here. They’ll nab him in a second.”
Tina’s eyes narrowed as if fine tuning and focusing in on the crowd, but she didn’t see John.
“No, I don’t see him. He’s not a stupid man. He knows I would have told everyone to be on the lookout for him…but…”
“But even smart men who are angry do stupid things.”
“Yeah, something like that. I’m hoping he drove himself and his arrogance back to where he belongs. There’s nothing he loves about me – he’s just plain pissed because I dumped him before he had the chance to dump me.”
“Ah, men…ain’t they just grand?” Steve tried to make light of the situation just to relax Tina. They had a long day ahead with summations and charge. He knew full well to take any attempts of violence, no matter how subtly stated, very seriously.
Tina gave him a small smile, but a smile nonetheless. “Let’s get this day over with – this case will be over and even better than that, we’ll be done with Charlie Morris for a good long while. That man irritates me to no end, and his law clerk, well, I don’t even want to go there….then there’s this slime ball of a deskman at my building…I swear I’ve never met so many asshole men in my life…”
“Hey, I hope I’m not included in that.” Steve playfully poked Tina.
“Not you, kiddo. You do your gender just fine.”
“Yeah, I’d like to be doing my gender right fine. I just need to find him. Are you sure Bette doesn’t have a brother?”
They reached the doors and entered City Hall disappearing from the distant view of John Braxton. He was across 15th Street standing to the side of the fifty-four foot high sculpture of The Clothespin. Tina never turned all the way around to look in that direction. He was far enough away that she wouldn’t have noticed him anyway, but he saw her.

Am I the only one who always knew Sam was a woman? O.o
I knew Sam was a woman…I was wondering where this story went to. If I was Tina I would have someone tailing me at all times in case that nut job tried to do anything.
Long time no see, hope you’ll post more often…
Tina’s coming out to her mother brought back all of Ann’s dreams of her own female lover. Ann is lucky that Sam is still very much in love with her. Hopefully Ann will get a chance to help Tina out with getting rid of John once an for all. This trail needs to end soon so that Bette and Tina can begin to live without the fear of being hurt of killed. They need that TLC to strengthen their love for one another.

Hey, It is soo good to see you back posting another fabulous addition to this wondrous writing. There is so much going on in this story that my head spins as you keep me on my toes. Love it to bits as Bette and Tina try to exclude the outside worl while it keeps interferring with their lives. Brilliant plotting and dialogue rattle along at a break-neck pace. Fabulous. Many thanks and big grin for seeing your latest post. Your Loyal Fan.
Wow, I really love this story. So happy when you find time to post. Thanks! Nice one with “Sam”. I thought, okay, we’re gonna be led around for a while before being revealed if it’s a he or a she. So thank you for not making us wait too long. I hope those two will be involved into the whole mystery (in a good way of course), and i’m so looking forward to Tina finding out about her mom! And please, more of B&T loving… PPS
