My One Special One – Chapter 28

How did life bring me full circle? Why was I given a second chance? Or did I come all this distance only to receive my payback.
“Sam?” Ann said softly.
“Ummm…” Sam nuzzled Ann’s hair.
“Are you sorry I couldn’t wait until Sunday?”
Sam pressed closer and whispered in Ann’s ear, “Have I acted like I’m sorry?”
“No, but I …Can you ever forgive me for hurting you so badly?”
Sam gently turned Ann around.
“I was broken-hearted…no, it was more than that. I felt as if the only person I had ever truly loved tossed me away like yesterday’s news. But I knew you did what you had to do. I came to realize it wasn’t our time. I forgave you and let you go. It was a silly dream, but I kept hoping someday, somewhere we would meet again. Dreams fade, hope dies, years pass. You were the one true love of my life, Ann Kennard. I know I could never withstand that kind of hurt again.”
The words “you were” stung like a bee but Ann knew she had no right to expect more. Too much time had gone by. She couldn’t prevent the tears from falling.
Sam pulled Ann closer trying to comfort her. For the second time in her life Ann was sobbing as Sam held her.
“I…I am so sorry for hurting you, Sam. I am so sorry for not being stronger…”
“It was another time and place. This is now. Magically, my dream came true. I got to see you, touch you, make love with you again…but I’ve got to go…”
…a moment of bliss and now the payback…
“I understand…”
Sam sat up and turned to get out of bed.
“Sam, I know you need to leave, but would it be all right if we spoke now and then?”
Sam looked quizzically at Ann. Then walked around the bed, leaned down and placed the softest kiss on Ann’s lips. “I’ve got to go to the bathroom, silly girl. Make sure you’re here when I return. I need to show you that the years have proven me right – you were and continue to be the one true love of my life. I have never stopped loving you. For however long life has given us this time around, I promise to always be by your side.”
It was known way back then and Ann knew it now:
Samantha Jacoby always kept her promises.
“I’ve held you in my heart and memory for so long. Never did I think I would have the chance to tell you again – I love you – I have always loved you, Samantha, with every fiber of my being.”
Ann watched as Sam walked towards the master bath. As the door softly closed, so did Ann’s eyes. She quietly whispered, “Thank you for second chances. There will be no broken hearts on this second journey.” Her eyes opened, she stared in silent reverie, waiting for the one true love of her life to return to her arms.

Am I the only one who always knew Sam was a woman? O.o
I knew Sam was a woman…I was wondering where this story went to. If I was Tina I would have someone tailing me at all times in case that nut job tried to do anything.
Long time no see, hope you’ll post more often…
Tina’s coming out to her mother brought back all of Ann’s dreams of her own female lover. Ann is lucky that Sam is still very much in love with her. Hopefully Ann will get a chance to help Tina out with getting rid of John once an for all. This trail needs to end soon so that Bette and Tina can begin to live without the fear of being hurt of killed. They need that TLC to strengthen their love for one another.

Hey, It is soo good to see you back posting another fabulous addition to this wondrous writing. There is so much going on in this story that my head spins as you keep me on my toes. Love it to bits as Bette and Tina try to exclude the outside worl while it keeps interferring with their lives. Brilliant plotting and dialogue rattle along at a break-neck pace. Fabulous. Wow, I really love this story. So happy when you find time to post. Thanks! Nice one with “Sam”. I thought, okay, we’re gonna be led around for a while before being revealed if it’s a he or a she. So thank you for not making us wait too long. I hope those two will be involved into the whole mystery (in a good way of course), and i’m so looking forward to Tina finding out about her mom!
