As he slowly put his feet on the floor, he froze as he felt a hand on his back.
Fuck…he said to himself.
“Whereyagoinbaby…um?” the sleepy, still drunk voice asked.
John squeezed his eyes shut as the pounding grew louder and fiercer between his eyes.
“I’m going into the shower and you’re getting the fuck out of here…”
“Aww…comeon, big guy…come..back to bed…”
“Do I owe you any money?” John asked.
“No, you gave me plenty last night up front.”
“Then get your sorry ass up and out of here. Do not be here when I come back to bed. Any problem hearing me?”
The woman knew that tone and knew she better haul ass. This was not going to be an extended evening into morning. She sat up, grabbed the bills that were on the nightstand and started putting her clothes on.
“That’s a good girl.” John snarled, slammed the bathroom door and gave his aching bladder relief. He had somewhere to be.

The mornings always came much too quickly. What she wouldn’t give to stay in bed with Bette and have a lazy day of playing ‘me n’ you’. But Tina was in the office early. Old Chuckie should give his decision this morning, the defense will rest, summations by counsel and then the jury charge. Both counsel will meet with the judge beforehand to go over the elements of his charge, but all things considered this case could be in the jury’s hands by late this afternoon. Then they wait.
Tina was secure in her mind that she had presented the best possible Commonwealth case against this defendant, but she never, ever underestimated the quirks of jury deliberation. There had been a few times when she all but stood up and yelled in utter frustration when a jury announced a verdict of not guilty.
Steve and Tina made their way over to City Hall. Tina was tired. Preparing a case and then trying it is exhausting enough, but with the added factor of a threat of harm to Bette and then the debacle with John showing up in Philly compounded it all and Tina was on emotional overload. She was scheduled for a few days off when this case was over. If Bette were able to, maybe they could take a few days and just get away from the City, from work, from everything.

Am I the only one who always knew Sam was a woman? O.o
I knew Sam was a woman…I was wondering where this story went to. If I was Tina I would have someone tailing me at all times in case that nut job tried to do anything.

Tina’s coming out to her mother brought back all of Ann’s dreams of her own female lover. Ann is lucky that Sam is still very much in love with her. Hopefully Ann will get a chance to help Tina out with getting rid of John once an for all. This trail needs to end soon so that Bette and Tina can begin to live without the fear of being hurt of killed. They need that TLC to strengthen their love for one another.

Hey, It is soo good to see you back posting another fabulous addition to this wondrous writing. There is so much going on in this story that my head spins as you keep me on my toes. Love it to bits as Bette and Tina try to exclude the outside worl while it keeps interferring with their lives. Brilliant plotting and dialogue rattle along at a break-neck pace. Fabulous. Wow, I really love this story. So happy when you find time to post. Thanks! Nice one with “Sam”. I thought, okay, we’re gonna be led around for a while before being revealed if it’s a he or a she. So thank you for not making us wait too long. I hope those two will be involved into the whole mystery (in a good way of course), and i’m so looking forward to Tina finding out about her mom!
