“That’s a good idea. If he calls you, tell him the police have been notified.”
“I will. He’s not stupid, Bette. He knows the law. I can’t get a restraining order on him. He didn’t threaten me with physical harm, he didn’t attempt to or force himself sexually on me. I can only hope once people are on the lookout for him, he’ll just take his arrogant self back to where he belongs and just leave me alone.”
“Well, I’m not going to feel at ease until I know he’s out of town, honey. Hopefully, he needed to strut his immense male ego in front of you one more time and then be on his way.”
“Bette, sweetie, I’m exhausted. I don’t want to think about him anymore. Let’s get ready for bed. All I want is to have you next to me.”
Bette pulled Tina close. “I will always be here for you. Never walking ahead…never trailing behind…always right by your side.”
Both tired and drained from their day, Bette and Tina fell quickly to sleep. Tina’s mind did not shut off as quickly. Images of John, the threatening note about Bette were swirling in her brain.
She was pushing someone off her…trying desperately to get away…she just needed to get to Bette…then it would be okay…if she called her name…yelled for her, would she hear…
Tina woke startled in a dream sweat, but calmed instantly as she felt Bette’s hand on hers.
“I’m right here, T. You had a bad dream. Everything will be all right.”
Tina closed her eyes; her heart and dream saturated mind once again comforted and eased by Bette’s touch. Tina knew as long as Bette was beside her everything in her world was right.
Love’s Beacon
When the night seems
Never ending
My mind filled with
Storms of fear
I reach out
In the darkness
Searching

That will bring me

Its bad when someone who knows the law is stalking you. He didnt do any thing wrong Tina let him in he just kissed her. but a retraining order will keep him so many feet away and any phone calls. but can’t stop him from hiring other people to do his dirty work for him. Plux could be in trouble. thanks

Another awesome post Rene. This is such a great story! I love your skills – you have a profound ability to “take me there.” I feel like I’m standing right there watching it happen as I’m reading it. I can’t help but want to reach out and slap Rick and John and then drag Tina & Bette off to a safe haven. It seems to me that Tina would technically have a case for a restraining order – he did make sexual advances towards her – holding her close against him and then he kissed her on the lips…and him knowing Bette’s name really creeped Tina out – she needs to tell Bette about that. At the very least Bette should get Tina and herself out of Tina’s apartment now! What was Rick doing in the courtroom? And OK – Tina is an intelligent woman…she knows she is in danger due to the case she is working on, so why would she open her door without looking through the peek hole, or at least leave the chain hooked until she saw who it was? And asking the front desk to let her talk to whomever is wanting to come up…well, there all all kinds of ways around that. They need to get out of that apartment and report it immediately!! Oh, and did Tina’s mom meet with her long lost lover yet?
I totally agree with Amanda. Why is Tina still staying in her apartment? She should be either staying with Bette at hewr place, or they should be renting or subletting a place until the trial is over.
