“Hey, was she surprised?” Rick asked.
John stopped abruptly, turned and walked to the desk. In a flash he reached across the desk and put his hand around Rick’s throat. Rick’s eyes nearly bugged out of his head.
“You ever speak to me again or tell anyone you can recognize me, I will personally rip your vocal cords from your throat. Understand?”
All Rick could do was to slowly move his head up and down indicating an affirmative answer.
John pushed Rick back hard. He stumbled but managed to land in the chair behind the desk. He coughed and rubbed his throat with one hand.
“Christ, Mister…fuck…fuck…” But John didn’t hear him – he was gone.

When Bette got out on Tina’s floor she practically sprinted in her Jimmy Choo’s to her door. Tina’s apartment key was in her hand with her cell phone. Tina was on speed dial….it didn’t matter she was only twenty feet from her door.
“Oh, Bette…where are you?”
“Open your door, Tina, now, or I’m calling 911.”
“I’m okay. I’m okay…”
Tina rushed to her door and pulled it open. She threw her arms around Bette.
Bette looked around the apartment. “Where is he? Was it your brother?”
Tina let go of Bette and put her hands to her face and started to cry. “He’s gone. He just left. Damn it, I hate that he makes me feel this way…he is such a bully…I cannot believe I even…”
“Who, Tina…who was here?”
“John. I don’t know how he got my address.”
“Tina, baby, did he hurt you…did he…”
“No, no, other than his admonition to get over my foray into Lesbianism and rush back to him. He never was a man to take no for an answer. His anger and propensity for rage scares me.”
“I think you should call someone in your office and also notify the police to be on the lookout for him. They’re already on alert due to this case, Baby. Anybody that travels that distance and makes a point to find someone needs to be watched.”
“Perhaps it was naïve of me, but I never expected he would take it this far. He doesn’t love me. His precious ego is bruised, that’s all it is. First thing tomorrow morning I’ll notify people. He had his say for tonight. He won’t be back. I’ll also tell Rick – for as long as he’s here – and also the day people that I am to speak to whoever comes to visit me before they’re allowed upstairs. Even you, Baby. I want to hear the voice. I don’t trust him.”

Its bad when someone who knows the law is stalking you. He didnt do any thing wrong Tina let him in he just kissed her. but a retraining order will keep him so many feet away and any phone calls. but can’t stop him from hiring other people to do his dirty work for him. Plux could be in trouble. thanks

John scares me, because he has already stalked Bette and now he is letting Tina know that he will not take no for an answer. Beautiful Poem as always.

It had been okay, but there never were skyrockets in flight.’ Sounds like Tina and John’s afternoon delight (or morning, evening, whatever) wasn’t too tasty to Tina. I swear no pun was intended…okay I’m a bad liar a lame pun was intended. You know it’s bad when someone who knows the law is after you. =/

Another awesome post Rene. This is such a great story! I love your skills – you have a profound ability to “take me there.” I feel like I’m standing right there watching it happen as I’m reading it. I can’t help but want to reach out and slap Rick and John and then drag Tina & Bette off to a safe haven. It seems to me that Tina would technically have a case for a restraining order – he did make sexual advances towards her – holding her close against him and then he kissed her on the lips…and him knowing Bette’s name really creeped Tina out – she needs to tell Bette about that. At the very least Bette should get Tina and herself out of Tina’s apartment now! What was Rick doing in the courtroom? And OK – Tina is an intelligent woman…she knows she is in danger due to the case she is working on, so why would she open her door without looking through the peek hole, or at least leave the chain hooked until she saw who it was? And asking the front desk to let her talk to whomever is wanting to come up…well, there all all kinds of ways around that. They need to get out of that apartment and report it immediately!! Oh, and did Tina’s mom meet with her long lost lover yet?
I totally agree with Amanda. Why is Tina still staying in her apartment? She should be either staying with Bette at hewr place, or they should be renting or subletting a place until the trial is over.
