Masked Feelings CH 96 The Problem with Family
There was no identification on the woman when she was brought in. Unfortunately, someone needed to pay for the cost of this woman’s care… as cold as it sounded. This was not a hospital that took on charity cases. While the woman may have had family or even insurance, it was going to be some time before she would be awake. The surgeon planned to have her put in a temporary coma until her prognosis looked much better.
Most people would’ve left a stranger, but Marco just wasn’t that kind of man. He definitely had a soft spot for the lost or wounded and it started when he was very young. He found a stray dog at school and took an instant liking to it. There was something wrong with it’s leg and it hobbled around. The poor thing followed him home… but of course he coaxed it to come with him. His father told him that he couldn’t keep the dog, because it probably belonged to someone. The dog was taken away to the animal shelter until it’s owner came to claim him… or so he was told.
Marco never believed that the dog had an owner or that his father took him to the shelter at all. He said that he would get him a dog of his own, but that’s not what he wanted. His father had never followed through with any of his promises since day one, so he learned not to expect anything at all. The only thing he knew was that his father would disappoint him so many fucking times and when it came down to it, he had sent him away because he didn’t understand him at all.

When Sharon finally did go to sleep, it wasn’t a restful one. Ever since she went to her mother’s funeral, she started having these damn nightmares again. She hadn’t had any of this kind in so many years. Irwin had slept in the guest room since he knew that his wife was better off alone when having one of these migraines. Sharon tossed and turned. Her body was sweat soaked and tears were streaming down her face. All this being done in her sleep.
Sharon hadn’t shed hardly a tear in so many years. The last time she really had was when she found out that her daughter was gay. This took away her hopes and dreams of having grandchildren. Dana had said that she wanted children, but how? She wasn’t really going to go through that process, was she? Being inseminated? That caused her stomach to churn just thinking of it, some stranger’s seed to be growing in her. There were worse things than that, but she pushed those thoughts instantly out of her head.

Holy moly!! Welcome back, brteyes!! I am sorry to hear what a rough year you had and hope that your father continues to improve. As to the chapter… It doesn’t seem like the time off has caused you to lose any of your skills. I like that you were able to provide an update that kept the story moving with just enough info so I didn’t have to go back and re-read. Love the additional info on Sharon. I have to wonder if there is more to her objections to the marriage. Poor Roxy. Yes, I said it. I don’t know how you come back from an experience like she is going through. Marco is shaping up to be a fascinating character. Loved more background on Roxy and Erika. Thank you for continuing the story even though the last line of the chapter makes me feel a bit queasy. Oh! And congrats to you and Danalicious. ;-D
Well hello stranger, I was wondering if and when we would see you again :) May I say it’s lovely to have you back. I was more than a little excited when I saw an update to the story so I went back and read what I’ve missed! Im sorry to hear about you’re father and I really hope he continues to improve. I always think it’s lovely that you and Danalicious are together I really do :)Again Im so glad you’re back! I read the 3 chapters I need to catch up on and I have to say that the wait was worth it, I enjoyed every second of reading them. I have to say I am really intrigued by Marco and have a good feeling about him, am I right to or not? lol. I love the little bit of background your giving us with Roxy and Erika as well. Totally not suprised by Sharon’s reaction although Im dying to know what this secret is of hers!! Can I also say I don’t like the sound of the last line in this chapter, I take it David’s more than evil ways are going to come back into action with poor Alice and Dana soon enough … Ohhh!! Haha. Can’t wait to see another update when you’re able to give us one :D x
