Love Revisited – Coming Home Part 81

They ran outside to see Helena face down with blood seeping out from underneath her.   Officers a few feet away were covering a struggling, screaming body on the lawn.

Susan LaFay lay on the ground also.  Her right hand over her stomach with blood pouring through her fingers.

Nancy got on her cell and called for an ambulance immediately.  She then ran over to Susan.

“Susan, the ambulance is on its way.  Hold on, pleaseplease.  Dawn will never forgive me if I don’t see that you get back to herplease.”  Nancy was clearly distraught at her seriously injured friend.

Susan was losing blood fast but was able to get out a request before she lost consciousness.   “Please call Dawn.  Telltell her I love hernever stopped.coming home..”  Susan LaFay blacked out.

“Where is the God damn ambulance?” Nancy barked.

The unknown woman was still shouting obscenities and struggling with the officers.   For one woman, she was giving two strong men a very hard time.

“Who the ***** is that woman?” Bette asked.

The officers got the woman handcuffed and pulled her to her feet.   The gun was on the grass, still smoking.

The woman was screaming at the body of Helena.  “That’s for my mother, you *****!!”

    My mother?

“Holy *****,” Bette said, “that’s Diane Buckley, Faye’s daughter!”

The ambulance arrived but it didn’t matter for one person.  Helena Peabody was dead within moments of hitting the ground.    They hurriedly got to Susan and were on their way to the hospital, siren blaring.

“Oh, God,” Tina said.  “This wasn’t supposed to happenno one was supposed to get killed!  And Susan, oh, please, Bette, she’s got to be okay.”

“It’s okay, T.  It will be okay.  Poor Peggy.  And Diane Buckleywhere the ***** did she come from?  She must have surfaced during the trial.  Holy ***** *****.”

“I think that’s my line, Bette.  Faye’s daughter must have been stalking Helena and Susan for sometime.  She must have felt Helena was indirectly responsible for her mother’s suicide – after all, she did goad her into the attempt on your life.”

Holy *****, Shane thought.   When she backed out of the house her intention was to go around to the rear and come in the back way, but Susan had grabbed her as soon as she stepped onto the porch.  That’s when she went back in to try to get Bette out.

“Bette, Tina, why don’t you get out of here.  I’ll be in touch.  Your drama and hurt from Helena Peabody is really over now.  You can only wreak the havoc this woman did over the years for so long.  It’s almost as if she sent out an invitation for this kind of ending.”

Nancy then excused herself and got on the phone to make all the calls she needed to make.   And get her butt to the hospital to be with Susan.

The tree’s leaves blew in the breeze.  Several leaves landed on the cold, hard cement bench.   The tree and the bench didn’t have their visitor return today.  Neither did the headstone that sat twenty feet away.   Now, no one will be visiting Faye Buckley’s gravejust the wind and the leaves.

    5. RC,

Another wondrous instalment which finally revealed some of the truth.

A mark of genius by have Susan double cross Helena and then bring Faye’s daughter Diana in to the mix to dish out some pay back.

Still breathing heavy from all those shocks.

I do hope that Susan will make a speedy recovery and that Bette and Tina get some personal time to reconnect after all of this horror.

Great to see Nancy back at the front line.

Thank you for sharing your talent.

      Your Loyal Fan.

    6. RC, never saw all this coming. GREAT CHAPTER and just loved this story. Payback is hell isn’t it. So glad that Susan was not a bad guy and I should have seen this coming from little hints that you dropped awhile back. I wqas in law enforcement for almost 17 yrs. (Court side) and should have reconized some things but, no it all went by me. Never thought of Buckley’s daughter coming into the fray. Happy it ended with our girls allright and together and Nancy is OK!!!!!. Great story. Loved it. Let Susan be okay and go back to her girl. Thank you.

    10. I just discovered your wonderful story about two days ago. Good thing I was able to catch up with all 81 chapters before you posted the finale (had to do the pesky school stuff in between reading your posts).
Your take on B&T’s story is quite different and innovative. Not the usual B&T fare. Your years as a legal reporter (if I remember right) has served you well. Maybe you can write one of those who dun it, murder mysteries which goes straight to #1 in the NY Times bestseller list, earn millions of dollars and ride off happily towards the sunset with your honey by your side. Of course the main protagonists would be B&T. Hehehe! A girl could dream, but I will buy your book if you ever decide to write it.
I hope you will continue to weave beautiful stories and thank you very much for sharing your passion with all of us.
