Love Potions and Fate – A Fan Fic Challenge

    “Alice!” Tina warned.

“Okay, fine!” Accepting defeat, Alice stood up and grabbed her purse. “Are you at least going to bless Dana and I with you company tomorrow for lunch at The Planet?”

    “I’m going to try…”

    “Tinaaaa,” Alice whined.

“I’m going to try Alice. That’s the best I can do right now.”

“Okay fine,” Alice repeated as she disappeared through the door of Tina’s office. “Tomorrow at 1:00!”

“Hi Bette. It’s your SHBFF…which, if you’re wondering means your Smokin Hot Brilliantly Fabulous Friend! Just calling to remind you about lunch tomorrow. See you at The Planet at 1:15, and don’t be late!”

Bette laughed as she listened to Alice’s message, writing down the pertinent information in her calendar. She was looking forward to spending time with two of her favorite people.

Alice sat at their regular table tapping her fingernails impatiently. “Why is it that people can’t be on time?” She asked as she stared down the front door of The Planet. “I mean what happened to respecting other people’s time these days…huh?”

Dana sat reading her Tennis magazine as she tried to ignored Alice’s questions…knowing she wasn’t actually looking for an answer.

“Really? Why does everyone think that their time is more important than mine? What, it’s okay to make us sit here and wait for them because our time doesn’t mean as much as….oh thank the Goddess!” Alice stopped her rant long enough to breathe a sigh of relief as she watched Tina walk through the door and start to make her way over to them. It’s about fucking time!

“It’s about fucking time!” She repeated out loud to Tina as she pointed to her watch. “Where the hell have you been?!”

“Geez Alice, hello to you too.” Tina answered, a little bewildered by Alice’s attitude. “Why are you so pissed off? I told you I would try to be here, so the fact that I’m here at all should earn me points, not your anger. Besides I’m not that late, it’s only ten after 1:00.”

“It’s just that…” Alice looked nervously at the front door of the café. “It’s been so long we were really looking forward to seeing you today.”
