    Love Love LOve 5/6

“She said she wasn’t ready for a relationship. She said she was still young and wanted to venture the outside world. She left New York for England a week later. Gosh I was ready to move all the way to New York for her.” Shane sniffed.

“Oh man I’m sorry to hear that.” Dana patted her back.

“Nevermind it’s over now.” Shane wiped her tears. “Let’s go back. I don’t want Susan to wait.”

“Erm, are you ok?” Dana raised her eyebrows.

“Let’s go Dana.” Shane stood up and walked away. Dana stood up and chased after her friend.

“All I wanted her to do was to ask me to stay.” Carmen sniffed.

    “And she didn’t?”

“She didn’t even show up at the airport. Damn!”

“Oh that’s where ‘the dumbest thing’ came out right?” Alice asked.

“Yes I have never seen person so dumb before.” Carmen wiped her tears away. “Ok enough about me. Let’s me freshen up and then we should head down for dinner. I don’t want Susan to wait.”

“Are you sure?” Alice raised her eyebrows.

“Yes.” With that the Latino walked into the bathroom.

    Back to reality

“The dinner went pretty well I should say.” Alice said.

“Yes. I’m glad I managed to put aside my urge of strangling her.”

“Me too. It was as if you two were ready to tackle each other on the table.” Alice chuckled.

“Haha very funny Pieszecki. Not that you did something to help. I swore you were busy stealing glances at Dana during the dinner.”

“Hey that’s not true. We were actually signaling to each other that you two were ok.”

“Just by looking at each other?” Carmen raised her eyebrows. Alice blushed.

“Ok let’s not change the subject shall we? Anyway Shane did call you two days after the dinner right?” Alice said.

“Yeah that’s where the reconciliation started.” Carmen smiled.

“I am so happy for you guys. So are you going to move in together?”

“I don’t think so. We are still working on it so I think we better have our own space. And technically I am still attached to my current law firm.”

“Really Carmen you don’t have to move out you can stay with us.”

    1. Very readable, uhhuh — have no worries on that. Excellent chapter. I loved all the little vignettes that show how they are drawing closer together. The Carmen/Shane subplot is great. Love that Alice and Dana met up at the carnival and had such a great time. With the smooching at the end, I have high hopes for chapter 6. Thanks so much!!
