    Love Love LOve 5/6

“Alice.” Dana greeted and took the seat in front of the blonde.

The blonde diverted her gaze to look at Dana.

“Dane?” Alice couldn’t believe it. It was Friday night and Dana should be cruising bars not here at a carnival.

“Hey it’s nice to aaaaaaaaa……” Dana was cut off as she felt the Ferris wheel started to move. Shit! Shit! Shit! What was I thinking I am scared of height! Dana berated herself. Oh my god oh my god, she clenched onto the seat for dear life. Don’t scream it’s not cool Alice is here! She reminded herself.

Alice tilted her head in question. Just seconds ago Dana was as cheerful as a bird and now she looked like she had just seen a ghost. So she is scared of height, Alice smiled.

“Dane?” Alice saw Dana closed her eyes they were now swinging in the middle of the air.

“Ye-yeah?” Dana tried to sound as cool as possible but failed miserably. Her stomach was making flip flop at the moment. She afraid if she talked again she was going to puke.

Alice shook her head and made one swift motion to seat beside the brunette. Dana felt the movement in the gondola and had to suppress a scream. She gasped when she felt arms wrapping around hers.

“Dana its ok to open your eyes the view is beautiful from here.” Alice tried to calm her down. She could feel how stiff Dana’s body was.

“I-I can’t.” Dana managed to say.

“Do you trust me?” Alice asked again.

    “Ye-yes why?” Dana asked quickly.

“Then open your eyes. I can ensure you its worth doing so. Dana? Come on hun.”

Dana pursed her lips and swallowed hard. Really hard.

“O-ok.” She opened one of her eyes slowly to peep at the carnival ground. Within seconds she closed it back and yanked her head up.

“Ok it’s beautiful.” Dana said quickly. She could hear Alice’s laughter.

“Dane? You need to open your eyes longer in order to judge whether it is beautiful or not. Come on try it again please…”

Dana didn’t know why and what was the magic behind this word that always made her comply with Alice’s request. But she complied anyway. This time she opened both her eyes and slowly moved her gaze to the ground of the carnival. She tilted her head and curled her lips up lopsidedly. Well it was beautiful but Dana still didn’t think it was something to appreciate.

    1. Very readable, uhhuh — have no worries on that. Excellent chapter. I loved all the little vignettes that show how they are drawing closer together. The Carmen/Shane subplot is great. Love that Alice and Dana met up at the carnival and had such a great time. With the smooching at the end, I have high hopes for chapter 6. Thanks so much!!
