Alice – thanks David, tell her I’ll pop round tomorrow and give her the money for it

David – leave it out Al you know she wont take it, I gotta dash I’ll see you later

Alice – bye David

The two women sat and had their cup of tea, Dana decided she would really do with a bath, so whilst she had a soak in the tub Alice went about heating up Mrs. M’s stew.

When Dana came downstairs, the table was set and Alice was just serving up dinner.

Dana – something smells good

Alice – oh yes this is Mrs. M’s specialty, you wont taste a better stew in London, well that’s what she tells me anyway.

The two women sat and talked as they ate their dinner, after they had finished Dana insisted on clearing up and Alice went into the sitting and lit the fire, she then curled up in her favourite chair.  Dana came down the hallway and as she entered the room she stopped and took a breath as she saw Alice sitting there, the fire was flickering, Alice was reading with her glasses perched on the end of her nose, Alice looked up and smiled when she saw Dana, Dana couldn’t think of any time Alice looked so beautiful.

Alice – hi, I thought you’d got lost out there

Dana – nah just couldn’t find a home for a few things that’s all.

Alice – im going to put the TV is that ok

Dana – of course Al you don’t need to ask me its your house

Alice got up and turned the TV on she back down and then began flicking through the channels until she found what she was looking for.

Dana – do you mind of I borrow a book, Dana said as she looked dup at the wall lined with books

Alice – help yourself hun

Dana got up and started to look along the bookcase stopping and looking at the photos displayed on it.  There was one of Jake asleep in his stroller he must have only been about 1, he looked so cute.  Then there were some more pictures of Jake,  and Jake and Alice.  At the end of the bookcase there was a picture that Dana hadn’t seen in a long time it was of herself and Alice at pride, Danas mind wandered back for a few minutes to that day, that was the day that she told Alice she loved her for the first time.  Dana was startled out of her thoughts by a tap on the shoulder
