Life with Mom and Tina Ch 65
Previously:
“I know It’s just….” Bette sat back down on the bed.
“I can’t believe we screwed everything up so bad.” Tina said.
“T we have to fix it.” Bette said still holding the picture.
“We will. We have to.” Tina said.
4 weeks later
In the past weeks Jess has stayed clear of the house. She has avoided Bette and Tina. However she had not abandoned her brothers and her baby sister. Jess ate lunch with Ian and Teddy every other day, and when she would finish her school work before practice she would go and play with Angelica in the daycare.
Bette sat at her desk getting ready to go teach the only class she had. It was an advanced Art History. It was the most popular class, mainly because Bette was the one teaching it. She thought about all the changes that she and Tina had made, and how much better the boys and Angelica were doing. She still missed Jess very badly and would sit in her empty room at night trying to figure out how to get her back. Nothing she had tried so far had worked. Jess wouldn’t even talk to them. The only contact they had was from Alice would give them daily updates.
Bette walked into the auditorium. She had asked the class to write down on an index card their favorite painting and to paste a picture on it. They also had to give a reason why they like it. The TA’s had collected the cards the previous class and had scanned them so that the class could discuss them. Nicole handed Bette the stack of cards.
“Thanks.” Bette stood in front of the podium. “Okay today we are going to discuss last weeks assignment. When the art work that you choose comes up I want you to stand and talk about it.” She said.
They went through about half of the slides when one of Andy’s paintings showed up. It was the painting of Jess sitting in Bette’s lap when she was very little. They were both asleep. It had always been Jess’s favorite painting. Bette immediately looked to see who had chosen it. No one claimed that they had chosen that one. She searched through the stack of cards until she found the one that corresponded to the slide. She quickly flipped it over.

Oh my goodness–so sweet and sad at the same time. Loved the use of the picture to get Bette’s attention.

Very well done, it is good to see Bette comforting Jess. Bottom line is she will always be her little girl.
momy is back! i hope the can talk and support each other, continue please
I am not sure what Bette and Tina might do but I know what Jess needs to do and that is grow up!! When people have a big family and careers and all, its a little hard to focus on one person 24/7. Jess has had a good life, loved and indulged and this just makes her sound like a spoiled brat. Parents are never perfect but to hurt them in this way is just wrong. Good story, really evokes emotions!!
This is amazing and let Bette comfort Jess and take care of her. Hope Jess will be ok soon. Ok post soon please, thanks!
Amazing chapter! I think Bette finally starting to get the picture of what Jess wants from her. Cant wait for next chapter!
GREAT!
Lovely story, hope they can get it together and be back together as a whole family.
nice story. Full of emotions. Quite interesting and touching
I hope that jess is o.k please post soon
Jess, Bette and Tina all need to take a look at what is happening to them and their family. Jess just wanted her true mommy back and she wanted her brothers to know that mommy and not a shell of herself. Bette just wanted her little girl back only now Jess is a young lady with different needs. Hopefully, they all can work it out so that all the kids and adults can benefit from the family as a unit.
Hopefully this will put everyone on the right track again.
Oh that was heart-breaking and yet so touching. Mommy’s back!
