    Helena is finding her spine again

     

    Alice just wanted to spend time with Helena, most of all, on this evening. “Catherine, I’m sorry if this is a problem, but I was hoping that Helena could come back with me tonite?” All eyes turned to Helena who nodded immediately.

     

    Awkwardness, the source of which, Alice was unaware, fell on the women when Helena tried to leave. She wanted to talk to Bette, wanted to kiss her good night. She wanted also to talk to Catherine briefly, just to see where they were at. Instead, she gave each woman a brief peck on the cheek and took Alice’s keys from her to drive them both to the apartment.

     

    Alice and Helena talked until nearly 4am, until they grew too sleepy to say anything more.

     

    Helena left Alice to her comfortable bed and stretched out on the couch, letting her long legs hang over the edge. She heard the front door open slowly, and turned to see Catherine making her way in quietly.

     

    “Helena, are you awake?”

     

    “Mhmmm.” Helena pulled the dark haired woman down to lay on her, once Catherine had removed her shoes and jacket.

     

    “I wish…” Catherine began, but was interrupted by Helena’s long finger against her lips, following by Helena’s mouth which silenced her for a long minute.

     

    “Don’t wish, Catherine, it is what it is.” Helena kissed her again. “I don’t know what you’re about, but eventually, you are going to have to open your heart to someone.  And that is going to take an insane amount of work on your part.”

     

    Catherine nodded.

     

    “Catherine?”

     

    “Yeah?”

     

    “Did you and Bette…you know, in the pool after I left…?”

     

    Catherine smirked. “You’ll just have to keep guessing…Ow!”, Helena had swatted her “ok, ok, no, nothing happened. We just talked about you.”

     

    “Oh? What did you say?” 

     

    Catherine ran her hand down Helena’s arm, across her hip bone, and thigh, and between her legs. Helena gasped and arched her back as Catherine’s fingers pressed against her.

     

    “We said…how amazing you are. How sweet you are.”

     

    “Yeah? Ohhh, right there. Tell me more.”

     

    “We talked about how Bette really should ditch this artist of hers and raise children with you.”

    5. That was kind of harsh, relegating James to the sub-human. OK, so I like Catherine a little better now, but she still needs to go. (The one on the show is a souless cypher.) It was interesting how she and Bette connected, though. Now why didn’t Helena lock the door and finish what she started after Phyllis split?

    9. I thought this chapter was about both Bette and Helena realizing certain things. Bette is jealous of Helena’s past lovers, and Helena wants to do something with her life, maybe even in the way of art, is that right? They love each other and maybe even though they think they’re not ready, they are whether they like it or not. Office sex never goes well, lol. Too true. I really liked this. Thanks.

    11. This chapter covered a lot and was a little confusing at time but the bottom line is that they are caring for each other even if they are not ready to commit to each other.i’m so happy they did not have a three some
