Life: Altered 03.16 ~*~ Memory Fades

“So I could be destine to be
with Tim, but now I’m not because my journey to
him was cut short by my affair with you?”
    Jenny
questioned and Marina looked over at her.

“Perhaps.  Perhaps Jenny, you will find him again if he is the
one for you, or perhaps we are the ones destine to be together.”
    Marina
stated seriously, and Jenny‘s eyes were wide.

“I love you Jenny, I do hope you have come to realize
    that.”
    Jenny
swallowed her mouth working but no words
    coming out.
    Jenny
was speechless for once in her young
    life.

“I didn’t ask for you to
reciprocate the words, or the emotions.  I
just thought, after all this time, I needed to say them out loud.”  Marina
said, standing up and reaching down and Jenny took her hand.

“Let me show you what love can
    be like Jenny
    .”
    Marina
said, and she led her into the house and
    up the stairs to
    Jenny
    ‘s bedroom.

Quin sat with her mother in
two lawn chairs they’d stolen from the back of her mother’s house.  It had been Quin’s idea to come here, a place
that she’d shared with her brother when they’d been younger.  They were on a hilltop, overlooking the city,
the lights twinkled and the sun was about to rise in two hours.  A faint purple hue began to taint the
    otherwise ebony sky.

“So you have a date.”  Her mother said, and Quin gave her a cooling
look, then she nodded, taking the bottle of water from the left of her chair.  She put her lips to the bottle, tipping it
towards her as her mother sipped from the flask and Quin had to laugh.

“Yup.”  She said simply, they’d been there for two
hours, and they had yet to speak.  They
could sit in silence for hours, and it would still speak volumes to each other.  Just spending time in each other’s presence
was enough for the two women, and Quin watched a shooting star blaze a trail to
the earth, not bothering to make a wish.

                “That is wonderful darling,
who is she?”  Her mother asked, and Quin
shrugged as if who it was didn’t matter.
The simple fact that she had a date was enough to send her mother in a
euphoric state of mind, without the liquor.

    1. I agree with Ira about Bette not having the right to be as upset as she is. Usually I mainly want to see what’s happening with Alice, but now I want to see just how Bette is going to handle the situation.

    2. OK, I’m slow on the uptake! I’ve just put this story into the context of your other story – and whow, it’s awesome. Am completely addicted – but have to get on with a report – where are the hours in the day! Definitely not liking this Bette and have never liked Candace!
