Life: Altered 03.16 ~*~ Memory Fades

An hour later, Shane had made her way to her own room,
feeling badly for having yelled at
    Dana
, who didn’t deserve it.  She’d changed, into a pair of boxers and a
loose shirt.  She made her way carefully
    into
    Dana
    ‘s room.

                One thing about being blind,
you didn’t need to turn on the lights to get around.  She felt that the door was open and she
walked in, finding the bed.  Six steps to
the left, she remembered.  Shane stood
and then climbed onto the bed Dana was under the covers.  She pulled the cover back gently, she timidly
    crawled into the bed.

“Dane?”  Shane asked and Dana sighed, half awake and Shane touched her face, running a finger down
    the side and
    Dana
moaned.  Shane could feel her pulse as she touched her
neck, soft supple skin that ached to be kissed.

“Hmm?”  Dana said, and Shane moved under the covers
and snuggled up to Dana, feeling the need to have some human comfort after the
devastating news of the demise of the only good ***** relationship she’d ever
    witnessed.

Dana turned, throwing her arm over Shane‘s chest and Shane turned on her side too, they were nose
    to nose, and
    Dana
    kissed her nose without thinking.
    Shane
had to smile, in spite of the tears
falling from her sightless green eyes.

“Night.”  Dana said, and Shane closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep in Dana‘s arms.

“Now I know how Tim must have felt.”  Jenny said, regretting how she’d hurt him so badly.  Marina nodded, they were at Jenny‘s house, sitting on the back porch,
drinking wine and relaxing.  The night
air was warm enough to watch the sunrise, and
    Marina
thought she might just do that, here,
    tonight with
    Jenny
    .

“How you much have felt when
    you found out about Francesca
.”  Marina offered, and Jenny sighed, staring at the pale stars.  Her wide eyes studying the sky, seeing
various shapes and feeling very much alone in the universe suddenly.

“So do you think that we are all
    destine to ***** up?”
    Jenny
asked and Marina sipped her wine, thinking it over in her
    mind.

“I think we are destine to be
with many people in our lives, sometimes we find the right person at the wrong
time.  When we are not done exploring.”  Marina
said, and Jenny chuckled almost ruefully.

    1. I agree with Ira about Bette not having the right to be as upset as she is. Usually I mainly want to see what’s happening with Alice, but now I want to see just how Bette is going to handle the situation.

    2. OK, I’m slow on the uptake! I’ve just put this story into the context of your other story – and whow, it’s awesome. Am completely addicted – but have to get on with a report – where are the hours in the day! Definitely not liking this Bette and have never liked Candace!
