Life: Altered 03.16 ~*~ Memory Fades

“Oh please, not this again….”  Quin groaned, and her mother put her hand up,
and said in an even voice.

“All right darling, I know how
you and your sister have a distaste for each other, but you can get a few
pointers from her you know.”  Her mother
stated and Quin got up, folding the chair.
That was it, she’d had enough, should couldn’t take thinking about Alice any more.

“Ok, I need to get home; it’s
time for my temperament shot.”  Quin
scoffed, popping the trunk of the limo and sliding the chair into it.  Her mother stood, rolling her eyes at her
    daughter’s outburst.
                “Harlequin, you need to find
someone, you are always alone…”  Her
mother began, and Quin turned on her heels, her hair flying into her face, eyes
    filled with anger.

                “Mother, I have myself, and
that is enough for me.”  She shot back,
walking to the front of the car and getting in with the driver, her mother
yelled to the driver, who jumped out, put the chair into the trunk, and opened
    the door for her.

“You’re a dear.”  She said and they drove
away, leaving the sun to come up without them watching its brilliance.

Alice drove home, sad and wondering where this
left everyone in the scheme of things, she got to her door and saw a bag
hanging there.  She squinted, and walked
to her door, looking around, and taking the bag down off the door.  There was a note, folded in an accordion
    fashion, making
    Alice
wonder who’d left this for her, Tina?

                The first fold read.

                Read One
Fold At A Time.  The next fold read.

                No, not
canceling our date, but there has been a change of plans.
Reading the next fold and a grin came to Alice
    ‘s face.
    The third fold read.

                Just making sure,
I wasn’t the only one in a dress.  Bring
it with you; we’ll change when we get there.
Same time, I’ll have you picked up at The Planet.  Dress casual, we can ease into it with lunch,
then a walk, and perhaps a late dinner.  Depends
on how long I can stand being with you.

                Waiting.

                 Quin.  .

Alice opened her door and dropped the bag on
the bed, unzipping it, and staring at the stunning dress, black simply elegant dress
that seemed to shimmer in gold as the light played on it.

    1. I agree with Ira about Bette not having the right to be as upset as she is. Usually I mainly want to see what’s happening with Alice, but now I want to see just how Bette is going to handle the situation.

    2. OK, I’m slow on the uptake! I’ve just put this story into the context of your other story – and whow, it’s awesome. Am completely addicted – but have to get on with a report – where are the hours in the day! Definitely not liking this Bette and have never liked Candace!
