Just The Girl – Chapter Twenty Six (a HYD-inspired fic)

Tina sighed as she looked up and stared at the empty table at the second floor of the cafeteria. Who was she kidding, Bette Porter and F4 won’t show up today. “I just..” She turned her head to meet Jenny’s worried eyes and swallowed hard. “I just need to give this to her..” She stuck her free hand inside the inner pocket of her school jacket and fished out a white envelope from within. “She won’t talk to me on the phone.. she doesn’t want to see me in person.. she’s completely avoiding me.. ” She shook her head sadly as she placed the letter on top of the table. “I just want her to know how I feel. I need her to read this so she could understand a few things..” She whispered as she ran a tired hand through her hair.

“I could drive you to her house after class..” Jenny smiled a little as she patted Tina’s hand.

“Are you sure?” Tina raised her eyebrows in surprise, trying her damnedest not to sound too hopeful and happy. She knew that Jenny had plans with her douchebag of a girlfriend after school.

“Yep.” Jenny nodded her head in the affirmative. Max could wait, her best friend needed her more today. And it wasn’t as if she and her girlfriend were going out on a date.. she was actually meeting Max to break up with her.. uh.. him. The thought of dating a lesbian-identified man was a novelty that excited her at first.. but that excitement quickly wore off.. especially during his proud display of absolute ass-like behavior yesterday.

“Thanks Jen..” Tina smiled, her first one of the day. Where would she be without friends?

    ———————————————-

    “Nowhere!”

Alice shouted at the top of her lungs as shook her head in frustration. “You are going nowhere if you don’t take these!” She crossed her arms on her chest and nodded towards the items sitting in front of Bette on top of the glass table.

Bette adjusted the sunglasses covering her eyes and sighed. “Thanks Al,” She smiled sincerely at her fuming friend as she slid the check back to Alice across the table. “But I can’t take it..” She shook her head to the side. “And Shane?” She turned to the girl on her left and pushed the leather briefcase back to the brunette. “I can’t take this either.” She smiled as Shane reluctantly nodded her head. “Sammy?” Bette turned to her best friend and handed over the leather credit card holder. “This too.” She shrugged as Sam sighed in resignation.

    2. Wow! What an awesome letter by Tina. She clarified her feelings for Bette while at the same time telling her that she needs to stop walking away when it is convenient for her. I loved the drama! Can’t wait for more!

    3. Bette’s willingness to give it all up to be with Tina is amazing, but I see Tina’s fears as something they do need to face if they are going to be successful thwarting the evil Melvin.

    4. a story is not a story without a little drama, but blimey this story has got some,Bette should just go and talk to Tina because there is alot of making up to do ;-).loved the last couple of chapters PPS

    7. I loved Tina’s making up letter-it was very romantic. Now they have to work together to prove to theirselves & Melvin that they belong together w/ or w/out money. Great job as always.
