Just The Girl – Chapter Twenty Six (a HYD-inspired fic)

“Thank you.” A flustered Tina mumbled shyly as she eyed her feet in embarrassment.

    —————————————————

    “You’re welcome!”

Sonja shouted as she closed Bette’s living room doors behind her. She didn’t tell her ward about the visitor this afternoon, she would let the young Porter discover that herself when she starts crawling into bed.

Excited much, Sonja? Bette shook her head in amusement as she removed the sunglasses from her eyes. She hadn’t even thanked the old woman for giving her that relaxing head massage when Sonja shouted out those words and left the room in record time. Oh well, she stood up from the couch and started unbuttoning her shirt and her pants, time to get some rest. God knows she needed it, she was beginning to look the same way as she felt – like garbage. Once again, her mind drifted back to Tina and the fight. She sighed as she fished out her cellphone from within her pocket and flipped it open. Ten missed calls and twelve unread messages. Tempted as she was, she didn’t read a single one of Tina’s messages since last night. She was so scared to open them. She would faint at the spot if she read one that said ‘it’s over’ or something remotely close to it. “Fuck!” Bette cursed as she jumped into her bed, her shirt hanging wide open and her pants falling a little down to her legs. She closed her eyes and savored the comfy feeling of the soft and fluffy bed covers on her body. She was so fucking tired, she couldn’t wait to fall asleep.. but wait.. “Shit..” She cursed once more, reminding herself that she needed to stand up once again to change clothes and brush her teeth. Why did she jump in bed in the first place? It was so fucking hard to get up. “Man..” She mumbled irritatedly as she inhaled a healthy amount of air inside her lungs. Wait a minute.. she froze as she stuck her nose up in the air. Something smelled good.. she sniffed her surroundings as she continued to close her eyes, allowing her sense of smell to overpower her other senses. It smells like.. like.. “Shit!” She opened her eyes immediately and pushed herself up with her arms. “Kennard!” She shouted as she eyed the white envelope lying a few inches away from her head. The script, the flowery scent.. it was all Tina Kennard. She sat up on her bed as she stared at the letter in front of her. Should she read it? Her heart thumped wildly inside her chest. But what if its a break up letter? Her mind panicked and she began to take deep, hurried breaths. “Well fuck this!” Bette slapped her face with her hands in irritation. Stop being a fucking wuss Porter! She chastised herself. With a quick intake of oxygen, she reached for the envelope and tore the flap open with her hands. With an open mind and an open heart, Bette began to read the words in Tina’s letter.

    2. Wow! What an awesome letter by Tina. She clarified her feelings for Bette while at the same time telling her that she needs to stop walking away when it is convenient for her. I loved the drama! Can’t wait for more!

    3. Bette’s willingness to give it all up to be with Tina is amazing, but I see Tina’s fears as something they do need to face if they are going to be successful thwarting the evil Melvin.

    4. a story is not a story without a little drama, but blimey this story has got some,Bette should just go and talk to Tina because there is alot of making up to do ;-).loved the last couple of chapters PPS
