    “Fine.” Alice grumbled, giving in to the peacemaker.

     

    By the time dessert was served, the laidback banter had returned to the table.

     

    “God,” Alice groaned a while later, her mouth overflowing with blueberry cheesecake. She turned to Shane. “Do I look fat to you? I feel so bloated.”

     

    “Not really.” Shane gave the blonde a once over. “Time of the month?”

     

    “No. My period’s late.”

     

    “Maybe you’re pregnant?”

     

    Alice floored Shane with a look. “I haven’t had boy-girl sex in months.” She huffed. “Or girl-girl sex for that matter.” She mumbled under her breath, completely annoyed. She hated herself for balking every time she was thisclose to making love with Dana. Performance anxiety sucks, she sighed bitterly, she never knew being someone’s first would put so much pressure on her part.

     

    “I knew it!” Bette cut right into Alice’s thoughts, pulling the blonde from her reverie.

     

    Alice lifted her head and looked at F4′s leader. “Knew what?”

     

    “I knew you were a freak!”

     

    “Excuse me?!” Alice’s voice hiked up, accompanied by her eyebrows.

     

    “I mean, since you’re still quite celibate and I don’t think Immaculate conception would ever apply to you – unless it was the Devil’s child – then you must have sperm shooting out of your fingers or something.” She exclaimed quite loudly, garnering attention from the students below and a few sniggers from her friends – with the exception of a cross Alice. Bette took the blonde’s hand in hers and made a show of studying her fingers. “So who’s the father?” She spoke to the digits.

     

    “Bitch!” Alice snatched her hand away. Bette laughed loudly – her first one since they were shooed from the library. “Sure Porter, laugh now but-mmbbff..”

     

    Shane clamped a hand over the talkative blonde’s mouth to stop Alice from answering back. “As much as I hate interrupting what I’m sure would be a clever comeback from Al, I believe we have more important things to discuss.” She quickly looked around her – keeping an eye on potential eavesdroppers. What she was about to bring up was highly confidential, a product of three weeks of delicate planning and hard work. Upon seeing the coast was clear, she pulled out a folded paper inside her jacket and spread it out on the middle of the table. She let go of the blonde.

    9. Congrats on passing, Alchemy! Hope everything works out just as you wish. I am beyond doing a happy dance seeing your post and loved the chapter. I cannot quit laughing thinking about Shane’s stink finger. I had tears rolling down my cheeks while letting out a nice belly laugh. So freakin’ funny. Good to see Ken and Melvin working together… seems Bette will be a yalie after all.

    10. OMG I LMAO as always but the ending got to me…. how sad.. the choice Tina has to make without Bette’s knowledge. They are all so funny together i just can’t see them apart!! no separation (puppy eyes) :) PPS
