    Bette momentarily tore her gaze from her notebook and arched an eyebrow at the blonde.

     

    Alice coughed.

     

    “Fine, I was the one who was making all the ruckus.” Alice admitted with a sigh. “Porter’s just guilty by association.” She absolved the brunette.

     

    Shane and Sam chuckled at the constipated look on Al’s face.

     

    Refusing to join in their merriment, Bette went back to her notes, mumbling a curse beneath her breath. If she can’t be with Tina, might as well preoccupy her mind with boring Physics.

     

    Teasing words quickly turned into noisy banter between the other three. This went on for a few good minutes before their clever verbal sparring and fun insult slinging was interrupted by servers bringing in their lunch. As they ate their meals, Sam gently poked Bette.

     

    “Why aren’t you eating?”

     

    Bette gave a little shrug and showed her notes to Sam. She’d rather study than eat, was her unspoken message.

     

    “They say the Physics exam is a killer, so you should eat something before taking it. You’ll be able to concentrate better without your stomach grumbling during test hour.”

     

    Melvin’s only child brushed off her bestfriend’s well meaning advice with another shrug. Not interested.

     

    “Fine, suit yourself.” Sam gave up and went back to enjoying her plate of Arrabiata.

     

    Shane, who was watching the interaction in silence, wiped her mouth with a napkin before speaking up. “Bette, why do you need to review? You can pass the subject without opening a book or listening in class..”

     

    Bette just smiled at the notorious player, feeling no need to explain herself.

     

    “She wants to make the honor roll and graduate on top.” Sam supplied for her.

     

    “But-”

     

    “Cause unlike you fat ass, Bette has an ambition.” Alice bluntly pointed out.

     

    “Not true! I have dreams.. and goals.. and plans.. and–”

     

    “Hate to break it to you Shaney, but banging hot women from all 193 countries of the world is hardly what anyone calls ambition.”

     

    Shane frowned and stuck out her tongue. “I’m not planning to sleep with all, just one from each.” She defended herself.

     

    “I’m amazed..” Sam looked at Alice in awe.

    9. Congrats on passing, Alchemy! Hope everything works out just as you wish. I am beyond doing a happy dance seeing your post and loved the chapter. I cannot quit laughing thinking about Shane’s stink finger. I had tears rolling down my cheeks while letting out a nice belly laugh. So freakin’ funny. Good to see Ken and Melvin working together… seems Bette will be a yalie after all.

    10. OMG I LMAO as always but the ending got to me…. how sad.. the choice Tina has to make without Bette’s knowledge. They are all so funny together i just can’t see them apart!! no separation (puppy eyes) :) PPS
