    “That I’m right?” The blonde asked, gloating.

     

    “No, as if Al.” Sam rolled her eyes. “I’m just amazed that you know how many countries there are in the world.”

     

    Alice shrugged and downplayed the compliment. “Being naturally inquisitive has its perks.”

     

    “Actually,” Bette chimed in, speaking up for the first time. She can never resist things like this, she loved trivia. “If you count the states that don’t have a steady government, the number of countries actually range from 210 to 230.” She said matter-of-fact.

     

    Shane made a face. “Jesus Christ! Can you say nerd?”

     

    “I prefer the terms well-read and knowledgeable.” Bette said haughtily, burying her head once more in her notes.

     

    “Nerd.” Shane smirked.

     

    “Geek.” Alice whispered.

     

    “Dweeb.” Sam coughed.

     

    Bette scowled, silencing her friends with a look.

     

    “Smart.” Shane backtracked.

     

    “Intelligent.” Alice added.

     

    “Brilliant.” Sam piped in.

     

    “Patronizing asses.” Bette rolled her eyes as her friends broke out into heartfelt laughter.

     

    “Wait a minute, let’s go back to what we were talking about a while ago about not reviewing.” Shane casually leaned back against her seat and crossed her legs. “God, I hate Physics but look at me, I’m about to graduate high school with an A in that subject.”

     

    Alice rolled her eyes and exhaled loudly, belittling Shane’s claim. “Thats cause you had Shepherd fired and replaced with a young pushover – who you happened to seduce into doing your bidding during her first week in school.”

     

    “Hey, she was feeling nervous and anxious on the job, I was just trying to help her out and make her feel welcome. That’s called–”

     

    “Sexual harassment?” Alice chided.

     

    “Sexual favor. That’s different.” Shane clarified.

     

    “That’s same you ho.”

     

    “Not in my book.”

     

    “Slut.”

     

    “Hypocrite.”

     

    “Me? A hypocrite?!”

     

    “Yes.” Shane nodded. “Don’t think that I don’t know that you gave her a Philip Stein watch just to pass Physics.”

     

    “That was a gift.” Alice retorted.

     

    “Bribe.”

     

    “Gift! It was given out of goodwill and friendship.”

     

    “Yeah right.”

     

    Sam rapped on the table, interrupting her bickering friends. “Put a lid on it. The both of you are guilty as hell.” She reprimanded the two. She saw that Alice was about to speak up so she lifted a hand to silence her. “No more.” She warned.

    9. Congrats on passing, Alchemy! Hope everything works out just as you wish. I am beyond doing a happy dance seeing your post and loved the chapter. I cannot quit laughing thinking about Shane’s stink finger. I had tears rolling down my cheeks while letting out a nice belly laugh. So freakin’ funny. Good to see Ken and Melvin working together… seems Bette will be a yalie after all.

    10. OMG I LMAO as always but the ending got to me…. how sad.. the choice Tina has to make without Bette’s knowledge. They are all so funny together i just can’t see them apart!! no separation (puppy eyes) :) PPS
