“The important thing is that we’re together now mother. The necklace held your promise and the two halves of the broken heart have reunited. Even though it took a lifetime it wasn’t an eternity. We’ll have our time now.”
“Yes we will baby. Tell me more about your gallery.”
“It’s a dream come true for me mother. We’re located in the heart of New York City’s art district. We’ve had some wonderful shows with many more on the horizon. As a matter of fact I want to talk to you about showing your work. I have all your paintings. Some are displayed in my home but the rest are in storage. I just had them shipped from your studio a couple weeks ago.”
“I thought your father would have destroyed my work.”
“He didn’t. He left the studio intact. It was just as I left it before I went off to college. I don’t think he ever went up there. He even kept the ones you’d hung in the house. He admired your work mother. He encouraged and supported my choice to study art at Yale.”
“How did you ever get him to agree to that? I was sure he would have wanted you to get an advanced degree in business at Harvard.”
“It did take some persuading but he acquiesced when I promised to double major. I also have my Masters in business.”
“I’m very proud of you Elizabeth. You’re very accomplished. I understand you are also planning to open a gallery in California.”
“Yes we have plans to break ground on the west coast location within two years. I will likely split my time between New York and California until I’m comfortable that both galleries can manage on their own. In the meantime I’m preparing for pregnancy; which I hope will happen within six months to a year.”
“Sounds like you’ve got it all mapped out.”
“Not everything but we do have a few solid goals. Tina and I want to buy a house and settle down permanently once she finishes school but with our commitments and strong ties to both New York and California we’re likely to be a bicoastal family regardless.”
“So there’s a possibility you might move back to California?”

Bat you have a way with writing that triggers my heart. I love to read that Maxine is a forgiving person. I’m sure she will be able to convince Bette to look differently at Helena. And I have a feeling that Angelica has a important part to play. Thanks for this update. You’re a gifted writer.

BAT I’m a little scared. Something is not sitting right with Peter? I’m glad Maxine has decided to come back to the U.S. Now with of this goin on do we see Greg changing his mind and starting a family of his own?
I finally catched up with this incredible story!
The reunion was everything i expected to be. Maxime sounds as a very remarkeble woman, loving, kind, forgiving and truly loves her children.
It will be hard for Greg to hear about why she left and under what circumstances he was concieved, but i can’t believe that the relationship between him and Bette will change, they were all victims due to that horrible man Melvin. Offcourse it will be a very big shock, but at least he grew up with all the love Maxime could give him, something Bette was denied.
Truly enjoyed the last chapters! Thank you!
Wanting to go to the states is going to be life altering for MAXINE because she left under extreme circumstances yet it would be best if she was closer to her children.Not knowing who or why someone wanted her dead is another problem.Telling KIT she had regrets shows compassion for the hurt she caused.Letting everyone know about the rape(s)will be hard especially for GREG ,being a child concieved from that will be tougher on him i imagined.thanks
