If You Never Say Anything to Me ch. 3

After I got out of the hospital, I went home and Kit moved in to take care of me. Thank goodness we were at a good point in our relationship. We’ve had our ups and downs as sisters over the years but for the most part, I love her and she loves me. Melvin, my father, sent flowers. He didn’t support my career choice so couldn’t be bothered to come visit when he found out I wasn’t dying. Alice also was always around. We met, dated and quickly realized that we weren’t compatible in a relationship. Somehow our friendship developed.

As is protocol in officer related incidents, I had to go see the shrink. I had no desire to do that. I was messed up…drinking too much but didn’t want to talk about it. I figured that in time, I would get back to myself. The bigwigs at work weren’t buying it and wouldn’t allow me to return to work until the Shrink gave the ok.

The first time I walked into her office I was blown away by her beauty. She was a bit shorter than me with blond hair and hazel eyes. She had a body that was flawless…I assumed she ran or swam. Her legs were legs that I wanted wrapped around my head pulling me into her. If we had been in a bar, I would have taken her home immediately and fucked her brains out. Instead we were in an office and she was in charge of deciding my future. I hated her right away.

For months, I didn’t say anything. I would walk in, sit down and just look out the window. After the initial visit, she didn’t try to engage me too much. We just sat. I wondered if she was married because she had no ring on. I wondered if she liked her job because I sure wouldn’t if I had a lot me type people to see daily. Every Wednesday I got up, swam, ate something then whittled away the time before I went to see Tina Kennard. I always took care to pick out something nice to wear. I wondered if she did the same on Wednesdays.

As much as I hated her, I wanted to get to know her. I wanted to see her outside the office. I wanted to talk to her about what was going on in my head as a result of the shooting but couldn’t. I was always awkward around her. That was something that was totally new to me. I was always sure around women. If I knew nothing else, I knew women and one Tina Kennard had me spinning out of control.

    1. I really like this story, Bette needs to talk or she never will get back to work Nor will she get rid of her Dr. after the De. releases her she can ask her for a date. thanks

    2. Therapy just stinks in the worst way! tickled that you kept alice as her lovable self, lol… but hopefully bette will start to open up with the doc… :)PPS

    3. Maybe Bette will run into Tina at the planet…then she’ll know and open up in therapy. Alice is right if she gets better there won’t be the whole doc/patient thing to deal with and here won’t be any secrets from the past either! Can’t wait for more! PPS:)

    4. O.K. NAG, I’m definitely hooked on this story too. I’m thinking that Tina is going to have to suggest another therapist for Bette, so that they can get together without Tina breaking her code of ethics. This is such a good story!

    5. reading and compearing to the folder, can’t wait for the catch up, it’s fun to do it all over again though. Hugs for little G and his for now momma, Thanks so much for your talents. Md

    6. Liking it – except how will tina get around the fact that she shouldn’t date or sleep with a patient or ex-patient for years after the therapy??

    7. You’re posting so fast with everything I can’t keep up! Goose! Prolific Goose! Heheh…I just read all three chapters in a row…and I’m lovin’ it! Viva la difference! :)

    8. It is great that Alice and Bette are very close and that Bette can open up to her. When I read that Bette wanted to go the planet, I went back to chapter 2 to see what coffee shop that Shane and Tina went to. Could it be the same coffee shop? My great nephew is visiting my parents and I was able to play and hold him this afternoon. I actually got him settled enough to go to sleep. But I am lucky, no diaper duty.

    9. These two are so going to run into one another at either The Planet or at a local bar – then the therapy will end and the dating will begin…since Bette really hasn’t shared anything with Tina in the therapy setting, I think ethically Tina could transfer the case and work within the structure of her license. Great Story! Can’t wait for their next meeting.
