If You Never Say Anything to Me ch. 3

If You Never Say Anything to Me

    Chapter 3

I got home from the therapy session and got into the pool. Ever since I was put on leave, I have become more physically active. Probably due to pent up sexual frustration. I wasn’t used to going long stretches without sex but being shot, makes one rethink things. Perhaps my casual approach to relationships was not really what I wanted or needed as I lay in a hospital bed with no girlfriend or wife there. All the women in my life were just women I slept with and it was Alice, my best friend and Kit, my sister, who were there for me.

Ever since I was a little kid, I knew I wanted to be a police officer. Adam-12 was my favorite show as a kid and I always imagined myself responding to that “see the man” call that appeared in every episode. As I grew older and saw Charlie’s Angels I started to rethink it and thought I wanted to become a private investigator but lust for Farah Fawcett was not enough to change my mind. I went to college in Chicago and majored in art history and criminal justice. It was a strange combination but one that my father would pay for. After earning my undergraduate degree I went on and got my Master’s in Art. Daddy insisted I have something to fall back on. When I finally finished, I headed to CA. They were recruiting women for the police academy and I was accepted. After 16 grueling weeks, I was a police officer. It wasn’t all I thought it would be and I started to rethink it. After my rookie status though, it became my life. When I was no longer partnered with an old codger, I enjoyed myself. I loved the solitude late at night as I patrolled the streets in my cruiser. I loved that women loved the uniform and got my fair share of one night stands. When my Sgt. suggested that I take the exam to become a detective, I jumped on it. I got the highest score ever in the department and found my niche. I was able to solve crimes that no one else could grasp. I was lead detective on my cases and the toughest of the tough were ones that I looked forward to. I had my job that I loved, women that I adored if only for the night and a future that was limitless. Until that fateful day.

    1. I really like this story, Bette needs to talk or she never will get back to work Nor will she get rid of her Dr. after the De. releases her she can ask her for a date. thanks

    2. Therapy just stinks in the worst way! tickled that you kept alice as her lovable self, lol… but hopefully bette will start to open up with the doc… :)PPS

    3. Maybe Bette will run into Tina at the planet…then she’ll know and open up in therapy. Alice is right if she gets better there won’t be the whole doc/patient thing to deal with and here won’t be any secrets from the past either! Can’t wait for more! PPS:)

    4. O.K. NAG, I’m definitely hooked on this story too. I’m thinking that Tina is going to have to suggest another therapist for Bette, so that they can get together without Tina breaking her code of ethics. This is such a good story!

    5. reading and compearing to the folder, can’t wait for the catch up, it’s fun to do it all over again though. Hugs for little G and his for now momma, Thanks so much for your talents. Md

    6. Liking it – except how will tina get around the fact that she shouldn’t date or sleep with a patient or ex-patient for years after the therapy??

    7. You’re posting so fast with everything I can’t keep up! Goose! Prolific Goose! Heheh…I just read all three chapters in a row…and I’m lovin’ it! Viva la difference! :)

    8. It is great that Alice and Bette are very close and that Bette can open up to her. When I read that Bette wanted to go the planet, I went back to chapter 2 to see what coffee shop that Shane and Tina went to. Could it be the same coffee shop? My great nephew is visiting my parents and I was able to play and hold him this afternoon. I actually got him settled enough to go to sleep. But I am lucky, no diaper duty.

    9. These two are so going to run into one another at either The Planet or at a local bar – then the therapy will end and the dating will begin…since Bette really hasn’t shared anything with Tina in the therapy setting, I think ethically Tina could transfer the case and work within the structure of her license. Great Story! Can’t wait for their next meeting.
