    Tina meets a woman and they go out.

    We made plans to meet for dinner and then go out. We were both excited about it…her because she hadn’t gone before and me because I wouldn’t be sitting at home again on a Saturday night. I hadn’t even thought about the possibility of Bette being there.

    I went home and cleaned a little before settling down with one of my books. It was really good and I almost hated putting it down to get ready to meet Dana but I knew I had many more evenings to sit and read. I was a bit indecisive about what to wear. Without Shane there to protect me I didn’t want to draw too much attention to myself. I finally decided on a pair of jeans and a red silk shirt that my mom had sent me. I loved the way it felt and how it looked. With the enclosed shoes I slipped on, I felt I was ready. I hadn’t heard from Shane all day and wondered what she was up to but knew I would catch up with her soon.

    Dana and I had made plans to meet at a Mexican restaurant not too far from my condo. When we sat down, we talked about the area and I happily found out that she too lived in the same complex that I lived in. We ordered our dinner and decided that we were both going to have fun tonight so we ordered a cocktail too. We agreed that we would have one drink during dinner then take our cars back to the complex and take a cab out.

    Over dinner, our conversation flowed as smoothly as it had earlier in the day. We talked about the women that we found ourselves interested in and it was funny to both of us when we described women of interest to us totally different from the person sitting across from us. That made it much more comfortable. We could be friends and we both agreed that in addition to possibly wanting a girlfriend, we really wanted a friend who understood. I didn’t tell her about Bette. I had told her that I was interested in someone but to tell her the Bette story would take more time than we both had.

    13. Two months did seem a long time, but in one sense it was about right. I am glad that they ran into each other if only for Dana and Alice to meet. Now at least Tina is rethinking the August 23rd time line.

    14. Good thing Bette and Tina ran into each other and had such a good time talking. I for one think a month is more than enough time to wait before getting together for a date ir just getting to know each other. PPS

    23. I love how you intergrated Dana into the story. It will be interesting to read their coming out adventures. I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Bette and Tina have a proper date. Great update.

    25. Oh my goodness I just had the day/evening from hell and to find this story, then read it was such a welcome treat!!! Well if it were in a work situation, I’d probably be freaking out if the target date got pushed up, but in this situation…oh who am I kidding, I’m freaking out now too – but in a good way…this is SO awesome, can’t wait for that phone call ;)

    29. at first when i read your intro.. i was pissed… oh no she had tina meet another woman… but so glad it was dana… and now maybe alice and dana will hook up… it sure looks that way… and i am also glad tina said what she said… now bette can call her when tina sleeps off her hangover she will be having in the morning… love this story… PPS
