If You Never Say Anything to Me ch.17

    “Hey Bette.”

“Hi Tina. I wasn’t expecting to see you out.” She looked right into my eyes and I wanted to throw away all caution and take her into my arms.

“I came out with a friend.”

“Oh, me too. How are you?” A friend or a friend who is a date is what I wanted to ask.

    “Good, thanks. How are you?”

“I’m good. Tina, she isn’t what you may think.” I bet she didn’t want to know my thoughts.

“Bette you don’t owe me any explanations.”

“Well I want you to know that she isn’t a date. I’m still waiting for August 23 for a date.” She’s still waiting. She still plans on calling me for a date. I was able to smile again.

“You’re not here with her on a date?”

“No, she is an old friend here in town for a couple of days. She, Alice and I went out for dinner and then came out. We were headed to the bathroom and my arm was around her because she was having trouble with her contacts. I’m really not on a date with her.”

“Tina,” Alice said as she threw her arms around me.

    “Hi Alice.  How are you?”

“I’m good. Thought this one got lost. Is Shane here?”

“I haven’t seen her.” This seemed to get Bette’s attention. She must have thought that I was here with Shane.

“Join us at our table,” Alice told me.

“Let me find Dana and make sure she’s not ready to go yet. We’ll find you.” I smiled at both of them before going to look for Dana. She was sitting at the table that we had gotten earlier.

“Thank God you’re back. That lady over there won’t stop staring at me,” she said as she tried to point at a very tattooed butch woman with spiked hair who was leaning against the bar. She had her eyes on Dana. “Tina, save me.”

“Come on. I ran into some people in the restroom and they asked us to join them. At least it will get you away.”

We both started walking with me looking for Bette…and Alice. Before we found them, we ran into Shane.

“TK, what are you doing here?” She asked as she pulled me into her arms and gave me a kiss.

    1. excellent! I love the stilted convo, love that dana is now part of the gang, love that they want to try sooner rather than later… Cannot wait for the first date!

    2. Two months did seem a long time, but in one sense it was about right. I am glad that they ran into each other if only for Dana and Alice to meet. Now at least Tina is rethinking the August 23rd time line.

    3. Good thing Bette and Tina ran into each other and had such a good time talking. I for one think a month is more than enough time to wait before getting together for a date ir just getting to know each other. PPS

    4. Yes!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this chapter…in one chapter you covered a whole month and I don’t think they will make it to the 23rd. You have written this story to perfection just like Windows of Opportunity. You are an awesome writer NAG. Thanks for the post

    5. Glad the waiting period is almost over and both of them still have that intense feeling for one another. Thank you for including a healthy, beautiful Dana to this lovely tale. At least in fan-fic land, Dana is alive and well. I appreciate your frequent posts, NAG. *Thank you!* :>

    6. Sorry NAG, I slipped behind but am all caught up now. So we’re not waiting the post Dr./pacient Dr. recommended waiting period. So GLAD. Ok if your not working on WoW than we should see another postd like really soon right, pretty please. Thank you, Md

    7. Well the NAG “nap deprivation plan” worked. That took a little bit of work to get the road crew and the tree crew coordinated. LMAO. Wooo Hooo! We don’t have to wait ’til the 23rd. Thanks for the post NAG.

    8. I love how you intergrated Dana into the story. It will be interesting to read their coming out adventures. I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Bette and Tina have a proper date. Great update.

    9. Oh my goodness I just had the day/evening from hell and to find this story, then read it was such a welcome treat!!! Well if it were in a work situation, I’d probably be freaking out if the target date got pushed up, but in this situation…oh who am I kidding, I’m freaking out now too – but in a good way…this is SO awesome, can’t wait for that phone call ;)

    10. at first when i read your intro.. i was pissed… oh no she had tina meet another woman… but so glad it was dana… and now maybe alice and dana will hook up… it sure looks that way… and i am also glad tina said what she said… now bette can call her when tina sleeps off her hangover she will be having in the morning… love this story… PPS
