    Tina it is very hard to tell what her total disability will be.  Bette could be affected down her right side more so than just her right arm like the first time.  She is definitely going to need physical therapy for a while until she regains control of her limbs.  Most importantly she is going to have to take this blood pressure medication for the rest of her life.  She has got to monitor her blood pressure from now on as well.  But we can go over all of that once we get her home.  Ok honey.  Shes going to be ok Tina.  I promise.  Stacey said knowing she shouldnt have promised Tina something that was completely out of her control. 

     

    Whit drove the girls back to the house and they all camped out at Bette and Tinas taking care of the kids.  Stacey remained at the hospital with Tina and Kit until Bette woke up.  They refused to leave her side until she did. 

     

    The next morning Bette was still not awake yet.  Tina was getting worried when Dr. Berry came in during her rounds. 

     

    What is the prognosis?  Stacey asked Dr. Berry.

    Explaining so both Tina and Kit would understand.  Dr. Berry began to tell them what Bette had to look forward to.

     

    Although stroke is a disease of the brain, it can affect the entire body. A common disability that results from stroke is complete paralysis on one side of the body, called hemiplegia.  A related disability that is not as debilitating as paralysis is one-sided weakness or hemiparesis. That is what Bette has.  Dr. Berry said.

     

    So she will have weakness on her right side?  Tina asked.

     

    Right, her type of stroke may cause problems with thinking, awareness, attention, learning, judgment, and memory. Bette may have problems understanding or forming speech. It can also lead to emotional problems.

     

    What do you mean emotional problems?  Kit asked

     

    Stroke patients may have difficulty controlling their emotions or may express inappropriate emotions. Many stroke patients experience depression as well.  So it is very important that she always take her medicine.  Recurrent stroke is frequent; about 25 percent of people who recover from their first stroke will have another stroke within 5 years.  She will need to monitor her blood pressure every day.  Dr. Berry said.

    9. now dont take this the wrong way, i love your story. i have since the first chapter. i have one question though… do you like bette at all? i mean you just give here more and more sickness. its like you are still punishing her for hurting tina. please go easy on her?

    10. yeah i agree with some of the readers here – it does seem you have a ‘fondness’ of torturing the B&T family and the gang with all these sickness; melodramas etc. do you derive pleasure in making ppl suffer – dont you think the world is bad enough with all the sufferings that you must keep doing this. you reminded me of ano writer who also loves to inflict pain and torture throughout the entire story on B and it still going on it seems. come on there is always a rainbow at the end of the rain – other than that i like yout story still (for the time being until i see how far you go with these sufferings).

    11. I am so sad right now. How will she ever be able to hold and play with her children? I have a huge lump in my throat cause I’m trying not to cry!!! Evil I say!!! j/k (about the evil). Could you would you please make Bette the way she was before she had the stroke. I know it’s not realistic to all of a sudden have her make a full recovery but could you do it just once for all of us Bette and Tina (they will live happily ever after) fans???? :(

      sorry to hear of your bad luck with your arm. probably not the way to make the paper. would have been better if it said something about “Lesbian Fan-Fic Goddess” writes another great chapter. haha!! keep your chin up and your fingers on the keyboard OCD

    16. Man, I don’t know how much more of this I can take – just when I think everything is going to be ok you throw in another HIGH drama. Please post soon – need to know that Bette is going to be ok. Btw – this is an awesome story.

    22. You could be a writer for the daytime soaps :-) which I love btw! .. Just got caught up and can’t believe all the drama that continues in the lives of these folks. Never a dull moment when I read your chapters. Great update. btw – saw the pic in the N&O also. Hope that eventually everything will work out for you and the rest of the folks that have been caught up in this mess.

    23. I love your story, but I must agree with soui, can Bette get a BREAK and not her leg. I know there must be drama, but why must it always be at Bette’s expense. PLEASE give the girl a break, and let someone else carry the drama. Hot danget! Just let Bette be healthy for a NICE change.
