Fa La La La La La La La La
“I think that’ll draw some folks.”
“Angie’s out there with the customers doing some recruiting, too,” Alice nodded towards her earth daughter.
“What do you have her doing?” Bette asked suspiciously.
“She just telling people that there is caroling and free cocoa and it will be fun.”
“Kit, is she annoying the customers?”
“Nah, it’s all good. She’s sticking to Alice’s script.”
“Oh,” Bette began when she remembered. She reached into her briefcase that rested on the floor. “Here’s the song list. When are you free to meet so that we can practice?”
“Practice?” the three other women asked simultaneously.
“So you know the songs. You’ll be scattered around the group and encourage others to sing.”
“Bette, I don’t need to practice,” Kit huffed.
Bette agreed, “Right. But these two do.”
“Bette, they’re just carols,” the blonde noted, not realizing where she had tread.
“No. They are not carols. Carols have a religious derivation. These are just songs. Pop songs.”
“I dunno, Bette,” Shane said. “White Christmas – some of these are classics.”
“Classic pop, not classics. And I have no idea why we are calling it caroling if we aren’t to sing any carols.”
The other women decided to not prolong the conversation and waited for Bette to speak again.
“So? James is free on Wednesday after 7 and Thursday anytime. Do you want to try Wednesday at 8?”
“But Bette, isn’t rehearsing a tad overboard?” Alice asked.
Kit and Shane nervously pushed their chairs just a little bit away from the foolhardy blonde.
Bette controlled her first reaction. In the past year, she had achieved much success in reducing her use of sarcasm, and wanted this event to have a triumphant outcome. She was fine as long as she remained silent. She knew that uttering a response, though, was a different matter. She was still struggling when she spotted Tina entering the café and watched as she grabbed Angelica and tucked her under her arm while the little girl squealed delightedly.
Tina placed her daughter down when they reached the communal table.”How are my favorite girls,” she asked as she looked at Bette and Angie.

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
