Fa La La La La La La La La
She gave up and the carolers moved happily on.
The group sang “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and “A Holly Jolly Christmas.”
No one acted like a Grinch and pointed out that winter in LA did not include snowmen, sleighs or even snow.
Some improvisation occurred – during “Let It Snow,” someone shouted out “SMOG!” and the lyrics were immediately revised. The singers happily journeyed, singing “Let it smog, let it smog, let it smog.”
At another short break, the ethereal voice of a boy soprano filed the night. The group halted, transfixed by the sound and the beauty of the music.

Once in royal David’s city
Stood a lowly cattle shed
Where a mother laid her baby
In a manger for His bed
Mary was that mother mild
Jesus Christ her little child
He came down to earth from heaven
Who is God and Lord of all
And His shelter was a stable
And His cradle was a stall
With the poor and meek and lowly
Lived on earth the Savior holy
And our eyes at last shall see Him
Through His own redeeming love
For that Child so dear and gentle
Is our Lord in heaven above
And He leads His children on
To the place where He is gone

Something visceral arose in the brunette. A few seconds before, she had been happily singing with her family, full of good will to all. Now, though, something primeval had been set loose. She took a few steps away to be closer to Helena. “It’s time,” she ordered. “Pass it on.”
Helena mouthed, “Really? Now?”

“Take this,” James ordered Matt as she shoved the bag with the flashlights and programs at him.
“What the…”

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
