Fa La La La La La La La La
They went through the song list in order, the kids jingling their sleigh bells at appropriate and inappropriate times. As each song ended, the group happily paused until Kit set the pitch or Matt played a bit of the introduction.
Tina and Angelica were joyous, which made Bette so joyous that she almost didn’t mind the ridiculous hat on her head.
“Jingle Bells,” was followed by “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” followed by “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.”
Someone shouted, We need the official WeHo song!” and launched into
"Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
‘Tis the season to be jolly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Don we now our"
Bette groaned, as did some others, at what was coming
gay apparel
Some shouted "gay" or waved something silly they were wearing. Alice’s elf hats had been quite useful for that. Most others laughed good-naturedly. Bette would have complained, but Tina was laughing and that made her laugh, too.
Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.
Troll the ancient Yule-tide carol
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
See the blazing Yule before us.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Follow me in merry measure.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
While I tell of Yule-tide treasure.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Fast away the old year passes.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Hail the new year, lads and lasses
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Sing we joyous, all together.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Heedless of the wind and weather.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
At the pause following “Sleigh Ride,” a male voice arose above the expectant murmur,
“God rest ye merry gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay,”
Bette’s forehead furrowed. Tina hadn’t wanted anything religious. She glanced at Tina and saw that she had joined in the singing. Relieved, Bette realized that she was getting her longed-for carol, and she happily began to sing.
“Remember Christ our savior was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan’s power
When we have gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy.
From God our heavenly Father
A blessed angel came,
And unto certain shepherds
Brought tidings of the same,
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by name
O tidings of comfort and joy,
comfort and joy,

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
