Fa La La La La La La La La
Almost everyone knew the song and they sang together, clapping for themselves when they were done.
“We’re going to do this every year!” Sonny announced.
The friends had started to button their coats and sling their bags over their shoulders when Alice called out.
“Wait! One last thing!”
She raced to the box that she had carried in from Bette’s trunk and pulled out elf hats for everyone and began to hand them out.
“Alice,” Shane complained.
“Alice,” Tasha complained.
“Alice,” Helena complained.
“Alice,” Bette complained.
In the rest of the room. Kit and Matt and Tina and James and Sonny had laughed as the put the silly hats on their heads and helped each other adjust them in place.
“I love my hat, Aunt Alice,” Angelica called out.
Alice scowled at the whiners, “Just suck it up.”
##
When everyone else had left the house, Bette stopped Tina and Angelica for a moment. “I’ve got something for my girls.”
She pulled out three ridiculously long fringed scarves in red and white that looked just like peppermint candy canes.
“I’m so proud of you both I want everyone to know that we’re a family.”
##
Tina had planned a simple route that wove through the streets of the neighborhood, avoiding traffic whenever possible. She had chosen a starting point in a very small traffic square on a very quiet street.
Her heart had leapt when she saw at least 30 people milling about at the starting point. She had grinned at Bette and had pulled Angelica and Bette faster to their destination.
The friends had disbursed through the group, as planned, handing out booklets and flashlights and, age=appropriately, sleigh bells.
Tina wandered through the group for a few minutes, greeting strangers and speaking a little longer to familiar faces.
She smiled warmly when she spotted one family.
“Who would have thought?” Tina said as she gestured at the crowd. “All because you mentioned it.”
“This is great, Tina. I’m so happy you ran with this,” Ed smiled.
“Hi Jamal, Lucas,” Tina smiled at the other father and their son.

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
