Fa La La La La La La La La
“Quite a turnout,” Jamal smiled.
“Tina, this is my nephew Jeremy,” Ed spoke as he placed his hand on the shoulder of a boy of about 10. “He’s visiting us today.”
“Jeremy, I hope you have fun caroling. You, too, Lucas.”
When she finished circling, Tina returned to the front of the group and, with Sonny’s help, climbed on top of a small bench so that she could be seen.
“I have been told that caroling was once a part of the holidays in our neighborhood. I am so happy to see that so many of you want to start the tradition again. The map of our route is on the back of the song booklet, and we can make detours as suggested. We will stop outside some homes to sing. Along the way, remember to invite all we see to join us. And remember that we will end at The Planer, whose owner, Kit Porter, has offered all of us, her neighbors, hot chocolate and cookies.”
“When I was a child, we always began our annual caroling with this appropriate song. So, join in and limber up your voices for the night ahead.”

Here we come a-wassailing
Among the leaves so green;
Here we come a-wand’ring
So fair to be seen.
Love and joy come to you,
And to you your wassail too;
And God bless you and send you a Happy New Year
And God send you a Happy New Year.
Call up the butler of this house,
Put on his golden ring.
Let him bring us up a glass of beer,
And better we shall sing.
Love and joy come to you,
And to you your wassail too;
And God bless you and send you a Happy New Year
And God send you a Happy New Year.
God bless the master of this house
Likewise the mistress too,
And all the little children
That round the table go.
R Love and joy come to you,
And to you your wassail too;
And God bless you and send you a Happy New Year
And God send you a Happy New Year.

The caroling was, well, merry. The large group grew larger with latecomers and with those who joined along the route.
Many people came outside when the carolers sang in front of their home and, for any that turned off their porch lights as the group approached, Alice yelled “Bah humbug!” at their doors.

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
