Alice paused and glanced at Bette, who was wondering what Alice would say. “Well he was very tall and very handsome, just like your Mama B.”
“Mama B isn’t handsome, Aunt Alice. She’s pretty.”
“He was very good-looking, just like your Mama B. And he had a voice that was so beautiful you just wanted to listen to him talk and it didn’t matter what he was saying. He was a snappy dresser, like your Mama B, and he had very good manners like your Mama B.”
“Mama B says bad words and Mama T gets mad.”
“Does she?”
“Uh huh. I heard Mama T say a bad word, too, but she doesn’t know I know.”
“Sometimes adults…”
“My mamas get mad when you say bad words and I hear you. James, do you say bad words?”
“Never, Angie.”
“Aunt Alice, why do grown-ups say naughty words but I’m not allowed.”
“I, uh, well, umm, ah, you see, well I mean…..Hey! Do you want to hear my funny song?”
“Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay.”
“OK. Sing along, James. Bette, you can just listen and see how the other kids lived.”

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
