“See.”
“So why are we here, Bette?”
“We have to practice another song.”
“You’re kidding, right? Porter, I have done all of the practicing I intend to do.”
“Alice has a point, Bette. We have already spent a few hours practicing together and I, for one,, have spent several additional hours practicing on my own.”
Bette smiled fondly, “Thank you for doing that, Helena.”
“My pleasure, Bette.”
“Why do we need another song, baby sis?”
Bette looked hopefully at Kit, “We need something special. A big surprise.”
“I don’t know Bette. You’re not getting all competitive on us, are you? You know what happ…”
Annoyed, Bette interrupted, “No, Kit, I am not getting all,” and Bette used her fingers for quote marks, “’competitive’ on you. I thought it would be a nice treat for Tina.”
“Since I’m here already, I’ll hear you out.”
“Thank you, Shane.”
“Fine.”
“Thank you, Alice.”
“Might as well.”
“Thank you Helena.”
“Well, I gotta be here anyway.”
“Great. Here are the lyrics,” Bette said as she distributed sheets of paper. “And James will hand you your instrument.”
“SAY WHAT!”
“Instrument, Kit.”
“Now I know you’re crazy.”
“We don’t have to use them. Kit, but it would make the song that much better.”
Alice had been reading the lyrics and looked up puzzled, “What fucking language is this? It looks like Spanish but it doesn’t.”
“It’s archaic Spanish.”
“You want us to sing in old Spanish.”
“Yes.”
“Can’t wait.”
“Turn the page over. I set it out phonetically.”
“You want us to sing an archaic language, phonetically, while we play instruments?”
“And sing in harmony and in rounds.”
“Say what?”
“Kit, we each get a part and we have to work out the timing of our respective entrances. I’d also prefer that several of us each sing a verse, but if no one wants to, I can do all of them”
“Only for Tina, Bette.”
“Yes, for Tina.”
“Yeah.”
“You got that right.”

Two hours and twenty minutes later, an exhausted group of four women, one man and one tyrant sat around a table slowly sipping their respective beverages of choice to sooth stressed throats.

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
