“I know, but they said that one would cost a minimum of $130,000, so I thought that you didn’t need to know how much more it would cost if they did it faster.”
30 minutes later
“How much would 45 of those lights on headbands cost?”
90 minutes later
“Bette, the best price I could find for them that can be delivered on time is $875.”
“$875.”
“Yes, but…”
“$875 is not too bad.”
“But you have to add tax….”
“That’s nothing.”
“And shipping. They’ve got to air freight them.”
Bette paused and waited.
“$1215.”
“WHAT!!!!!!!”
30 minutes later
“What about 45 small flashlights?”
3 minutes later
Bette looked up, surprised to see James standing in her doorway as he is slipping on his coat.
“$283.68 at Home Depot. I’m on my way to pick them up now.”

“Do you know what this is about?” Kit asked the assembled friends.
“I dunno Kit. I just got a message from Bette saying that it was an emergency about Tina,” Shane explained.
“Same here,” Helena agreed.
Alice raised her hands and shrugged.
“Well, let me know if you find out something,” Kit asked as she went back to her office.
A few minutes later, Alice perked up. “Well, if it isn’t Professor Porter and her minion.”
“James prefers to be called my right-hand man, don’t you James?”
“Actually, I’d prefer the brains behind the organization…”
Bette raised an eyebrow.
“…but it wouldn’t be true, so right-hand man it is.”
Kit had come over when she saw Bette arrive. “Bette, why did you get everyone here?”
“We have some last minute things.”
“Wait, does this have something to do with the caroling?”
“Of course it does.”
“Bette,” Shane replied. “You told us it was an emergency about Tina.”
“Yes, Bette. We were worried.”
“Wait. You think that there is an emergency involving Tina and I would ask you to meet me at The Planet? For an emergency?”
“It did seem a bit wonky, I admit.”

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
