“If anyone should understand perfectionism, it would be you, Porter.”
“Exactly. I was patient because I empathized and, not coincidently, I was early. He seemed all set, but he didn’t pull out. We did the hand signals again and he was waiting for someone. She arrived, they did their greeting, chatted for a moment, she adjusted her seat and seatbelt and, finally, they pulled out.”
“Great, you got a parking spot. But you were still…”
Bette smiled sweetly at Alice with a look that caused her to hesitate for a moment.
“um, still late.”
“Well, the rest of my story should shed some light on that. Shall I continue?” Bette looked around the table.
“Please,” Shane asked, curious about what was coming.
“Where was I,” Bette looked up thoughtfully. “Oh where was I?”
She again smiled at Alice.
“Oh yes, I remember, I pulled forward. I checked traffic to the left and then began to reverse into the spot. I had moved several feet back when a blur of a car pulled into the spot from behind as the driver blared its horn. I barely stopped in time, and watched as the other driver hopped out of her car and ran in here.”
Alice began to bite her lip.
Shane glanced at Alice, then tried to hide a smirk. “Stealing a parking spot is not cool,” she said as she faced the table. She then turned to the surprisingly calm brunette, “Bette, did you get a good look at the other driver?”
“I wouldn’t say that it was a very good look, but, Shane, sometimes you can identify someone with other clues. For instance, the thief came in here.”
“She was probably just getting coffee.”
“Excellent thought, Alice. This time of day, though, there aren’t many take away customers. Also, more importantly, the car is still outside. Therefore, there is a high likelihood that she is still here.”
“Any other clues, Bette?”
“Thank you for asking, Shane. Yes, she was blond and, uh, let me think. Let me think. Oh yes, she was wearing a skirt.”
“So, your suspect is a blonde in a skirt currently in the Planet?” Helena repeated.

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
