Fa La La La La La La La La
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles or rhinoceroseses
I only like hippopotamuseses
And hippopotamuses like me too!”
“Brava! Brava!’ Tina exclaimed as she clapped.
“Brava, Mama B!”
“Mama T, will the zoo sell us a hippomus for Mama B?”
“I don’t think that they sell their hippos.”
“Boo, I did get a hippopotamus one Christmas – a big stuffed white hippo with a red ballerina tutu.”
“So you don’t want a new one?” Tina asked.
“No, T.”
“Too bad. It’s hard to find the perfect gift for you.”

December 8
“This really sucks,” Alice indignantly declaimed as she sat heavily into the vacant chair.
“Hello to you, too, Alice,” Shane replied.
“Bette asks us to help her, I mean, we’re doing her a favor and she can’t get here on time?”
“Actually, she asked us to help Tina.”
“No, Bette asked us to help her help Tina.”
“Isn’t that semantics?” Helena suggested.
“No Helena. You too, Shane. You’re always making excuses for her.”
“Alice, Beh…” Shane tried to stop the blond.
“Did she at least call you and let you know when she will deign to arrive, because she sure as shit did not call me?”
“Talking about me, Alice?” Bette asked as she slipped into another vacant chair.
“Finally! It’s really rude, Bette, to be late to your own party.”
“I would have been on time. In fact, I would have been a minute or two early, if someone had not stolen my parking space while I was backing into it.”
“Bette, it’s a reality of life in L.A. that parking is difficult so you should have budgeted enough time to account for that,” Alice lectured.
“As you did?”
“I made it here before you did.”
“Actually I was here, sitting patiently outside, hazard lights blinking, just a few feet from the door. I had spotted someone right outside The Planet get into his car. We did the hand signals—I asked him if he was leaving and he indicated he was. He adjusted his seat, forward and back, up and down, tilted this way and that, until it was perfect. Then he adjusted his mirrors, over and over again, until they were perfect.”

That was just as amazing and beautiful like your other stories. I have so missed your talented writing on this site. Can this be a possible return to the forum. I have so missed the “the wolve” story- “Backstory”. I was hoping that this was a version of that, but I am just as happy with the one I got.
