Catching up with Dana and Tina – Chapter 33

“Not really … it was hot and heavy for a while but things are kinda cooling off you know?”

“I’m sorry Al. I really thought you two hit it off.”

“I think it’s more of a sex thing. I mean the sex is incredible but we’re just not going anywhere.

I’m not even sure she wants it to go anywhere.”

“Well you just started dating again. I’m sure you’ll meet the right person. Maybe you just need to broaden your horizons a bit. If you get on that talk show I’m sure you’ll be meeting a lot of cool people.”

    “Yeah.”

When they got home from chemo Lara ran a bath for Dana and as usual Dana asked her to leave the bathroom so she could get undressed, but this time Lara didn’t leave.

    “Let me help you.”

    “I can manage.”

    “Please baby … let me.”

Dana doesn’t say anything she just stands limply in front of Lara with her head down.

“Look at me baby. I love you so much … do you know that?”

Dana looks up into Lara’s startling green eyes and can see the love shining through. She simply nods yes and maintains eye contact as Lara loosens the buttons on her shirt and drops it to the floor. She then pulls down her trousers and Dana steps out of them leaving her with a bra and panties. Lara reaches behind Dana’s back and unhooks the prosthetic bra but Dana puts her hands up and holds it in place covering her breasts. Lara bends down and removes Dana’s panties then stands up and holds her gaze.

Lara can sense Dana’s struggle as the different emotions are reflected in her eyes and facial expressions. After what seems like an eternity Dana removes her hands and lets the bra fall to the floor. She stands totally naked in front of her girlfriend for the first time since the surgery. Lara pulls her close into a warm embrace and whispers “You’re so beautiful” in her ear. She moves back and kisses Dana softly on the lips then takes her hand as she helps her into the tub filled with scented bath water. Once Dana is settled Lara sits on the side of the tub and washes her love tenderly and with as much care as she can muster. Dana’s eyes are brimming with tears as she relaxes into the ministrations.

    1. I really love Dana, i hope she put some sense in Alice, that they don’t need to interfere with Bette’s and Tina’s relationship, they did it in the past and Alice need to respect Bette’s boundaries.

I hope that Tina really thinks hard about her friendship with Helena, she doesn’t seems to be convinced that Helena means big trouble for, mostly her career, but also for her relationship with Bette.

Thank you Bat, for the three updates!

    2. Three chapters back I was feeling incomplete. I thought Tina’s confessions were too surface and accepted too easy by Bette. The way the conversation transpired was not “real” given the prsonalities of these women. It felt like two school friends were chatting. I dont think they are friends yet. They are on the road to friendship which is great. I know Bette’s goal was to show Tina she can be understanding, but that conversation was just wrong. Compare it to Bette’s confession which was full of emotion from both of them, this dialogue was like a school girl interview. I struggled with that dialogue. So… karma has entered to storyline. BAT, I now like the approach you have taken. Bette didnt have to express a negative verdict in what Tina confessed, but I think some emotion should have been displayed. Now Bette can say, without saying, “I told you so”. Karma can communicate with Tina that she played a major part in the ways her life is shaping. Sometimes when you are the victim, it is through your own doing.

    3. Great update. It’s hard to try and understand why Tina still doesn’t quite get it regarding her relationship with Helena and how damaging it is to her own integrity and reputation.
She’s talked about making a change in her life but it’s like making that decision to let go of life in LA is taken a strangle hold on her. If I had that choice, I’d take Bette and Angive and NYC in nano second! ????
